Job summary

Welo Global is seeking experienced Adjudicators to review discrepancies in word-level transcription and timestamp annotations for an English (US) speech data project. This role requires strong judgment to make final calls on flagged or disputed segments, ensuring quality and consistency across the annotation pipeline.

This remote, contract/freelance position supports work from the Philippines or India, at USD 7.00 per hour for about 15–20 hours per week.

Qualifications

• US cultural expertise in English; excellent listening comprehension.
• Prior transcription/annotation QA, adjudication, or linguistic review preferred.
• Ability to apply detailed guidelines consistently and make sound judgment calls.

Responsibilities

• Review annotations flagged by first-pass annotators for disagreement or ambiguity.
• Listen to audio clips and make final determinations on word-level segment boundaries and transcriptions.
• Apply the project style guide consistently to resolve edge cases.
• Provide clear rationale for adjudication decisions.
• Identify patterns in annotator errors and feedback quality observations where needed.
