Overview

TNS is seeking an Android Developer with 8+ years of experience in Android, Kotlin and Java to contribute across the full software lifecycle, with a strong focus on software development, systems architecture, component integration, CI/CD implementation, and enhancing application security on android terminals for payments processing in close collaboration with internal teams.

Responsibilities

• Must have strong Android, Kotlin, Java, Linux, firmware, database (Room), device SDKs, MVVM, and Data Binding.
• Experience with modern Android frameworks and tools such as Jetpack Compose and dependency injection (Hilt).
• Strong computer science fundamentals: algorithms, data structures, multi-threading, UI, OOP concepts, and good debugging experience.
• Hands‑on experience in programming methodologies and implementations such as Finite State Machine, Android Inter‑Process Communications, Timers, etc.
• Experience with Android build and test tooling (e.g., Gradle, emulators, device).
• Experience with CI/CD (GitLab CI or similar) and automated testing (JUnit, Espresso, UI Automator, Robolectric).
• Strong technical software background with good analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills, and ability to meet deadlines.
• Deep knowledge of the software development lifecycle: scoping, planning, conception, design, implementation, deployment, and maintenance.
• Design, code, and document high‑quality software components in accordance with organizational standards, technical requirements, and detailed designs that meet industry standards.
• Work independently as part of an Agile scrum team.
• Research technical solutions and recommend options with appropriate reasoning.

Qualifications

• Must have a bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, or equivalent.
• 8+ years of professional experience.
• Desirable: Payment Industry knowledge, including familiarity with Payment Card Industry (PCI) standards and payment card specifications.
• Experience in payments, point‑of‑sale, or hardware‑integrated systems is a plus.
