Position Overview:

As our Application Developer (Android), your role is pivotal in ensuring the successful delivery of our app during a launch. You will leverage our Platform as a baseline and customize it to create a tailored client experience. In addition to this, you will be responsible for enhancing and supporting existing features in the production environment.

Your focus will be on delivering specific milestones and objectives within a dynamic and fast-paced environment. In this role, you will have the opportunity to contribute to the continuous improvement of our Android app, keeping it at the forefront of technology and user experience.

Furthermore, as an Android developer, you will actively collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that the app aligns with our product strategy and exceeds client expectations. Roles and Responsibilities:

1. Technical Design and Development:
1. Collaborate closely with Engineers to devise the best technical strategies and execute platform enhancements.
2. Own the delivery of timelines, ensuring high-quality results.
3. Establish software development best practices and encourage team adoption.

Stakeholder Collaboration:

1. Work with various technical/non technical stakeholders (Product Managers, Designers, Marketing, Operations, API Developers) to align on company objectives and deliverables.

Mentoring and Leadership:

1. Mentor a team of engineers, providing guidance and support.
2. Foster a culture of excellence and problem-solving within the team.

Application Availability and Enhancement:

1. Ensure top-notch availability and enhance products based on requirements.
2. Good understanding of mobile application frameworks and stay up to date with the latest Android trends and changes.

Engineering Excellence:

1. Own the engineering excellence and operational readiness of services, meeting SLAs and SLOs for the app.
2. Drive service quality, security, scalability, and other performance aspects.
3. Dive deep into issues, providing both reactive and long-term solutions.

Support and Mentorship:

1. Assist other Support Engineers on complex RCA issues.
2. Provide technical mentoring and guidance to fellow engineers.
3. Offer L3 engineering support.

Must Have Skills:

Design and Architecture:

1. Solid understanding of the full mobile application development lifecycle.
2. Proficiency in the full SDLC, from analysis to post-production support.
3. Experience with third party libraries and APIs
4. Working knowledge of the general mobile landscape, architectures, trends, and emerging technologies..

Multi-Tasking and Independence:

1. Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
2. Willingness to support off-hours.

Code Quality and Documentation:

1. Program at a system level and maintain scalable, extensible code.
2. Methodical in keeping documentation up to date.

Quality and Clean Coding:

1. Metric-driven mindset and a commitment to clean coding practices.
2. Experience with language specific test cases.

Product Development:

1. Preferred experience in product development.
2. Conceptualizing and formulating apps that are suitable for use on all types of Android devices.

Application Development:

1. Preferred 8+ years experience in Kotlin.
2. Ability to use the Android Studio, including the Android SDK, with ease.
3. Good knowledge of Android UX design guidelines.
4. Basic database knowledge is good to have.
5. Experience working with remote data via REST and JSON.
6. Have published at least one original app.

Qualification:

• A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science Engineering or technical degree.
