Job summary

Illumine is seeking an Android Developer to join our engineering team and own features end-to-end on our native Android app used by parents and educators globally. You will collaborate with product, design, and backend teams to deliver scalable mobile experiences and integrate real-time data systems.

Ideal candidates have 2–5 years in Android development, strong Java skills, and experience with Firebase and REST APIs.

Qualifications

2-5 years of hands-on experience in Android development.
Strong proficiency in Java.
Solid understanding of the Android SDK, app lifecycle, and threading.
Experience with Firebase (Realtime Database, Auth, Cloud Messaging) or similar real-time systems.

We are looking for a driven Android Developer to join our engineering team and help build scalable, high-impact mobile products. You'll own features end-to-end on our native Android app — used daily by parents and educators across 50+ countries — while collaborating closely with product, design, and backend teams to deliver seamless user experiences.

Key Responsibilities

Build, test, and ship features in our native Android application
Develop and maintain modules using Java
Work with real-time data systems like Firebase Realtime Database
Integrate REST APIs and third-party SDKs including payment gateways
Optimize for performance, memory, and battery across a wide range of devices
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and deliver product features

Required Skills
