Job summary

API Holdings is seeking a Senior Manager / Lead – Analytics & Data Science in Navi Mumbai to lead a 4–6 person analytics and data science team. You will partner with senior leaders to identify opportunities, drive ML solutions, and deliver measurable business impact.

You will mentor analysts, own analytics roadmaps, and implement end-to-end data solutions using Python and SQL, while promoting experiments and data-driven decisions across Growth, Product, and Engineering teams.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of analytics/data science experience, incl 2+ years in team leadership
• Strong expertise in Python, SQL, statistics, and machine learning
• Hands-on with ML libraries such as scikit-learn, XGBoost, PyTorch/TensorFlow
• Understanding of hypothesis testing, regression, ML algorithms, and experimentation
• Proven experience delivering production analytics/ML solutions with measurable business impact
• Experience leading teams of 5+ members
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills

Responsibilities

• Translate complex business problems into analytics roadmaps with clear objectives, metrics, and ROI

• Oversee end-to-end analytics: data prep, modeling, validation, and production deployment

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Analytics & Data Science leader to drive data-led decision‑making across Growth, Product, and Engineering. The role combines business partnering, team leadership, advanced analytics, and hands‑on technical expertise to deliver measurable business impact.

Key Responsibilities

• Partner with senior business and product leaders to identify opportunities where data can drive growth and business outcomes.
• Translate complex business problems into analytics roadmaps with clear objectives, metrics, and ROI.
• Lead and mentor a team of 4–6 analysts and data scientists, managing performance, development, and project priorities.
• Drive advanced analytics and ML solutions across areas such as regression, classification, forecasting, recommendation systems, NLP, and causal inference.
• Oversee end-to-­end analytics solutions, from data preparation and modelling to validation and production deployment.
• Work hands‑on with Python and SQL for complex analysis, data wrangling, and ML modelling.
• Build scalable data pipelines, models, and executive dashboards using modern analytics and BI tools.
• Ensure strong standards for data quality, model validation, monitoring, documentation, and analytics best practices.
• Promote experimentation, A/B testing, and data‑driven decision‑making across business teams.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in Analytics, Data Science, or a related quantitative field, including 2+ years in team leadership/people management.
• Strong expertise in Python, SQL, statistics, and machine learning.
• Hands‑on experience with ML libraries such as scikit‑learn, XGBoost, PyTorch/TensorFlow.
• Strong understanding of hypothesis testing, regression, ML algorithms, and experimentation.
• Proven experience delivering production analytics/ML solutions with measurable business impact.
• Experience managing and developing teams of 5+ members.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to present complex insights to senior leadership.

Good to Have

• Experience with BigQuery, Snowflake/Redshift, Airflow, dbt, Tableau, Power BI, or Metabase.
• Knowledge of causal inference and experimentation frameworks.
• Experience in B2C, e‑commerce, or consumer technology.
• Exposure to Generative AI, LLMs, MLOps, or AutoML.
• Master's degree in Data Science, Business Analytics, Statistics, or a related field.
