DESRI India Private Limited, Hyderabad, seeks a civil engineer to support design and engineering for solar, wind and storage projects. You will lead and/or support civil detailed design from concept to IFC, refine site layouts, grading, drainage, and coordinate with cross-functional teams across the U.S.
and India. The role requires a strong background in Civil Engineering, proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and GIS tools, and experience with large-scale renewable projects.
DESRI (formerly D. E. Shaw Renewable Investments) is a market-leading owner and operator of renewable energy projects throughout the United States. We have acquired or developed approximately 13 gigawatts of contracted capacity across a portfolio of over 85 renewable energy projects in 24 states.
We are looking for a resourceful candidate to join the India office of DESRI, i.e., DESRI India Private Limited, based in Hyderabad, India. The candidate will be a part of Design and Engineering team and will regularly interact with the U.S. and Hyderabad-based teams, as well as external parties. The candidate will be a part of a small, inclusive, highly skilled team responsible for supporting DESRI’s portfolio of wind, solar, and storage projects within a dynamic environment that values collaboration, thoughtful problem solving, and attention to detail.
Lead or support civil detailed design for utility‑scale PV projects from concept to Issue for Construction (IFC), ensuring designs are accurate, constructible, and cost‑effective. Develop and refine site layouts, grading, and drainage using AutoCAD Civil 3D; evaluate tracker slope tolerances, spacing, shading/obstructions, and constructability. Perform mass‑grading/cut‑fill analyses and optimize earthwork balance; plan access roads, internal circulation, laydown areas, and substation/collector pads. Execute hydrologic and stormwater analyses (flood, erosion, inundation), and propose mitigation (e.g., channels, culverts, energy dissipation, erosion control). Consolidate topographic, geotechnical, environmental, and civil datasets to drive layout iterations; run multiple optimizations passes and clearly summarize trade‑offs. Coordinate closely with Geotech, Electrical, Structural, GIS, and Project Management teams to ensure integrated designs and smooth handoffs to EPC partners.
