Responsibilities

• Spread financial statements by extracting data from Balance Sheets, Income Statements, and Cash Flows into underwriting templates.
• Analyze audited, unaudited, consolidated, and standalone financials to assess credit risk.
• Review bank statements to categorize debit/credit transactions into standard templates.
• Identify cash inflows/outflows, recurring transactions, and business trends.
• Evaluate balance trends and working capital patterns for credit decisions.
• Prepare MIS reports and dashboards to monitor workflow and performance.
• Ensure SOP-compliant categorization of transactions.
• Highlight irregular transactions, overdrafts, NSF, and unusual banking patterns.
• Proficient in Excel and financial spreading tools to support underwriting.

Role Summary:

You will play a critical role in managing the operational aspects of bank statement categorization, providing key insights into the borrowers financial activities. Your work will support the data foundation for credit decision-making in the client’s business lending portfolio in the US. The role involves manually categorizing and processing bank statement transaction data, ensuring both accuracy and timeliness. We are looking for detail-oriented professionals with a strong understanding of banking and financial data, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work efficiently with large datasets. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform financial statements spreading by accurately extracting financial data from Balance
• Sheets, Income Statements, and Cash Flow Statements into standardized underwriting
• templates and financial spreading tools.
• Analyze audited, unaudited, consolidated, and standalone financial statements to assess the
• financial health and creditworthiness of business entities.
• Analyze debit and credit transactions from business bank statements and accurately
• categorize transaction data into standardized bank statement spreading templates to
• support financial analysis and credit underwriting decisions.
• Review account activity to identify cash inflows, cash outflows, recurring transactions, and
• business operating trends.
• Evaluate average monthly balances, ending balances, deposit trends, withdrawal patterns,
• and account utilization to assess business stability and financial performance.
• Categorize banking transactions into predefined business and expense categories in
• accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Identify irregular transactions, overdrafts, NSF (Non-Sufficient Funds) activities, returned
• payments, and unusual banking patterns that may impact credit risk.
• Utilize Microsoft Excel and financial spreading tools to analyze financial data, generate
• reports, and maintain operational trackers.
• Prepare MIS reports, operational trackers, and productivity dashboards to monitor workflow,
• performance, and operational efficiency

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Minimum bachelor’s qualification in B. Com, BA, B.Sc. or related field, MBA/M. Com with
• understanding of finance preferred.
• MS Office - Thorough understanding of the functions and diverse features of MS Office
• applications such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.
• Ability to work with data - expertise and comfort with extracting, transforming, and deriving
• insights from data.
• Analytical rigor - ability to work in unstructured environments with clarity of thought.
• Solid understanding of Financials Statements with the ability to derive entity’s financial
• standpoint from a Credit Risk perspective.
• Financial services (Banks, Fintech, etc.) are preferred, but not mandatory.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and be able to prepare presentations for
• executive level audience.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Open to flexible working hours.
