Job description

Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically inclined Analyst to join our fund management and technology team.

The role spans two areas:

  1. Supporting the implementation and operation of FundOS for fund clients; and
  2. Supporting the financial operations, accounting, reporting, NAV, and compliance requirements of the groups funds and investment vehicles.

This is a hands-on role in a small, fast-moving team. You will work closely with clients, fund administrators, auditors, tax advisers, valuers, engineers, and internal stakeholders. You will be expected to work with financial data directly, investigate discrepancies, document processes, and use tools such as Python to improve accuracy and efficiency.

The role may require travel to client locations.

FundOS Implementation and Client Operations

  • Support fund clients through discovery, implementation, data migration, go-live, and post-implementation operations.
  • Gather client requirements, document existing processes, and translate fund operations requirements into clear workflows and product specifications.
  • Coordinate with the engineering and product teams to support the delivery, testing, and implementation of client requirements.
  • Build and test financial calculations, reconciliations, data checks, and operational workflows using Python and other relevant tools.
  • Ensure that calculations and outputs are accurate, reproducible, and traceable to their source data.
  • Assist in configuring document extraction processes and populating client templates using information from large data rooms.
  • Support the migration, validation, and reconciliation of client data from legacy systems and service providers.
  • Assist with parallel NAV exercises by comparing FundOS outputs with those of the clients incumbent administrator.
  • Investigate discrepancies, document findings, and coordinate the resolution of identified breaks.
  • Maintain implementation trackers, process documentation, test results, and issue logs.
  • Work in accordance with each clients confidentiality, information security, and data-handling requirements.
  • Capture client feedback and share operational insights with the product and engineering teams.
  • Support product demonstrations, client discussions, and pre-sales activities as a fund operations resource.

Fund Accounting and Reporting

  • Assist in preparing financial statements, management reports, investor reports, and supporting schedules for offshore funds, co-investment vehicles, private limited companies, and LLPs.
  • Maintain fund books, accounting records, databases, investor information, and supporting documentation.
  • Track fund performance and prepare periodic performance reports for management and investors.
  • Reconcile internal accounting records with information received from fund administrators, banks, custodians, portfolio companies, and other service providers.
  • Support accounting, tax, and regulatory compliance activities across entities and jurisdictions.
  • Coordinate with fund administrators, auditors, tax advisers, legal counsel, and other external service providers.
  • Prepare schedules and supporting documents required for audits conducted under Indian GAAP, US GAAP, and IFRS.
  • Assist in resolving audit queries and maintaining a complete audit trail.

NAV and Valuation

  • Prepare quarterly NAV calculations and supporting schedules for review.
  • Assist in preparing per-investor NAV statements, capital account statements, and related investor reporting.
  • Reconcile internal NAV calculations with those prepared by the fund administrator.
  • Investigate NAV differences, clear reconciliation breaks, and document the resolution of each item.
  • Maintain supporting records for portfolio valuations, foreign exchange rates, fund expenses, management fees, carried interest, and investor allocations.
  • Coordinate with independent valuers and internal stakeholders to collect information required for valuation exercises.
  • Maintain records of valuation dates, methodologies, assumptions, approvals, and supporting documentation in accordance with the relevant fund documents.
  • Track NAV and valuation reporting deadlines for investors, depositories, registrars, administrators, and other stakeholders.

Process Improvement and Controls

  • Identify opportunities to improve the efficiency, accuracy, and scalability of financial and operational processes.
  • Support the automation of reconciliations, reporting, data extraction, and recurring operational tasks.
  • Build, test, and maintain data-processing and validation workflows using Python, spreadsheets, and other relevant tools.
  • Document standard operating procedures, process maps, checklists, and control points.
  • Assist in implementing internal controls designed to reduce the risk of errors, omissions, and fraud.
  • Monitor recurring processes and elevate exceptions or control issues to senior team members.
  • Support fund launches, investor onboarding, compliance activities, and other operational requirements as needed.
  • Perform additional analytical, operational, and administrative activities required for the smooth functioning of the organisation.

Requirements

  • 1–3 years of relevant experience in fund accounting, fund administration, financial services audit, investment operations, fintech implementation, or a similar role.
  • Experience working with a fund administrator, private equity, venture capital, private credit or alternative investment fund, Big Four financial services team, or fund-focused fintech is preferred.
  • Practical knowledge of fund accounting, NAV preparation, financial reporting, reconciliations, or investor allocations.
  • Working knowledge of Python and strong data-handling skills. You should be comfortable building, testing, and troubleshooting calculations and data workflows rather than only defining requirements.
  • Advanced spreadsheet skills and the ability to work with large, complex, and sometimes incomplete datasets.
  • Exposure to implementation, data migration, fund onboarding, system testing, or parallel NAV exercises is preferred.
  • Familiarity with at least one of Indian GAAP, US GAAP, or IFRS. Exposure to more than one reporting framework is an advantage.
  • Basic understanding of direct and indirect tax matters relevant to investment funds and operating companies.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with close attention to detail and numerical accuracy.
  • Ability to document processes clearly and maintain complete supporting records.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to work directly with clients and external service providers.
  • An interest in technology and evidence of having independently learned a new tool, programming language, platform, or technical workflow.
  • Ability to work effectively in a small team where responsibilities may evolve and processes are still being developed.
  • Willingness to travel to client locations when required.
