Job summary

Gallagher in India is seeking a Chartered Accountant with 4–7 years of experience to join the financial operations team in Bengaluru. The role involves preparing accurate monthly financial reports, analyses, and supporting decision-making with robust financial insights.

Responsibilities include month-end close, journal entries, audits support, and collaboration with onshore teams to ensure SOX compliance and overall accounting accuracy.

Qualifications

  • CA qualification with 4–7 years of post-qualification experience.
  • Experience in financial accounting, month-end close, and statutory accounting.
  • Familiarity with US/UK GAAP/IFRS and SOX controls preferred.
  • Strong Excel, PowerPoint, and Word skills; ability to present analyses.

Responsibilities

  • Review, process, gather, and compile accounting transactions for accuracy and compliance.
  • Ensure timely monthly, quarterly and year-end close processes.
  • Partner with stakeholders to improve financial and accounting accuracy.
  • Record and review journal entries.
  • Investigate reconciliation variances and support management action plans.
  • Support internal and external audits with documentation and inquiries.
  • Manage multiple projects and coordinate across teams to meet deadlines.
  • Understand Sarbanes-Oxley requirements.
  • Collaborate with onshore teams to transition processes.

Overview

Prepare accurate monthly financial reports, assist in the preparation of presentations that provide thoughtful analysis, identify action items, and effectively frame decisions that need to be made.

How you'll make an impact

Responsibilities:

  • Review, process, gather, and compile accounting transactions and documents throughout the month for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with general accounting principles and established internal control policies and procedures.
  • Ensure financial integrity and timely monthly, quarterly and year end close processes.
  • Partner with stakeholders across Divisional Financial Operations to improve financial and accounting accuracy.
  • Record and review journal entries related to Divisional branch results.
  • Review and investigate reconciliation variances, assisting management to develop appropriate action plans addressing issues identified.
  • Provide support for internal and external audits including control walkthroughs, documentation support and inquiry response.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously and coordinate cross-functionally to meet strict project execution deadlines Experience in Statutory Accounts / Audit / Preparation and Consolidation of Financial Statements
  • Good working knowledge of accounting standards (US / UK GAAP/IFRS), account reconciliations, and month end close experience.
  • Good experience in Financial Accounting or Public Accounting.
  • Proficient computer, financial data, internal consulting, and customer-focused communication and presentation skills.
  • Should be able to build solutions, drive consensus across stakeholders and help them make the right choices.
  • Superior attention to detail and ability to successfully manage multiple competing priorities while maintaining a view of the big picture Ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to a changing, fast-paced environment
  • Excellent Excel, Word, and PowerPoint skills.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Excellent planning and organizing skills, especially prioritizing multiple projects / tasks.
  • Must be able to work with the onshore team to understand and transition various processes.
  • Good knowledge of Sarbanes Oxley requirements will be preferred.
