Job summary

Marsh Corporate in India is seeking an Application Development – Senior Principal Engineer to join a global delivery team. You will collaborate with stakeholders across requirements, design and build phases, delivering high-quality software and ensuring smooth production operations.

You will work in a hybrid model, be flexible for off-hours calls, and drive architectural decisions, coding standards and automation to enhance project outcomes. Strong communication and quick learning are essential.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with modern web stacks and frontend frameworks.
• Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript with REST APIs and HTML/CSS.
• Experience with MongoDB and unit testing frameworks (mocha/jasmine/karma).
• Knowledge of deployment, hosting and CI/CD processes.
• Willingness to work in shifts to overlap with US teams and collaborate globally.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with stakeholders to deliver high-quality deliverables across all project phases.
• Troubleshoot and propose viable solutions to complex problems.
• Handle flexible shifts to overlap with US teams and ensure timely delivery.
• Serve as escalation point for production software issues and drive resolutions.
• Own end-to-end ownership of assigned apps and drive transitions as needed.
• Create coding standards and automations to improve processes.
• Coordinate with QA, BA, DBAs, Server Admins and Cloud teams for project needs.
• Keep all stakeholders engaged and aligned on outcomes throughout the project.

Role: Application Development – Senior Principal Engineer.

We will count on you to:

• Collaborate with all the stakeholders to develop high quality deliverables across all phases of a project, from participating in the requirements, design and build phases; delivering high-quality deliverables, through to user acceptance testing.
• Troubleshoot/propose/implement viable solutions to given problems
• Work a flexible schedule to accommodate off-hours conference calls or work. Applicants should be flexible working in shifts to have required overlap with US teams.
• Be the escalation point for production software issues
• Self–Starter, able to work independently or within a multi-faceted team
• Manage risk identification and risk mitigation strategies associated with the architecture
• End to end ownership of assigned apps, and drive new application transition as identified from time to time
• Create technical coding standards, best practices, identify and execute automations
• Keep all stakeholders (internal external) engaged in the project, aligned on expected outcomes and informed about what is occurring throughout project
• Work with diverse teams, QA, BA, DBAs, Server Admins, Cloud management, etc. for project and team needs.

What you need to have:

• Hands-on experience in
  • Angular/ReactJs, Node JS, ExpresJS, MongoDB, Unit testing framework (mocha/jasmine/karma etc.), JavaScript/jQuery, Typescript, REST APIs, HTML, CSS, Deployment & Hosting
• Exposure to AI assisting tools like: GitHub Copilot, Google Gemini Code Assist, OpenAI CodeX, etc.
• Tools – VS Code, MongoDB Compass, Git
• Exposure to Azure DevOps Git Actions CICD process,
• Exposure to Azure DevOps/Jira/any other known WIM Tool
• Experience in working with Service Now/ any other ticketing tool.
• Great verbal and written communication skills
• Integrity and attention to detail
• Quick Learner with great aptitude
• Openness to grab new tech stack (if required)
• Exposure in initiating, planning, tracking, monitoring & controlling and closure of projects using SDLC models like Agile (Scrum/Kanban/Scrumban), Iterative

• Exposure to .NET Core, Web Services/APIs, Windows Services, ASP.NET, MVC, Razor/Blazor engine, RDBMS (Oracle/MS SQL Server/PostgreSQL)
