Meesho is building financial services as a core growth driver in India. This role focuses on risk management, policy, data science (DS) and analytics for credit, using Meesho platform data, bureau data, and alternate data to design scorecards and experiments. In the early phases you will refine policy, analyze data and create experimental policies.

Initially an IC role, you will own policy decisions, automate reporting, and grow into leading a team of analysts as the program scales.

About The Role

Lending is going to be our primary focus in this phase of our FS journey, and risk management is at the core of building any sustainable credit business at scale. Herein also lies potentially our biggest challenge for Meesho users: How do we assess risk of borrowers without any credit history? How can we leverage alternative information to better profile borrowers? How can we leverage our platform uniquely to create a sustained competitive advantage? The Person will be responsible for driving the Policy, DS and analytics behind all these questions, from creating analytical frameworks, developing high quality analysis, driving insights and actions, and owning policy decisions. In the early phases, your role will focus on refining initially implemented policy by Analyzing and Designing credit policies using Meesho platform data, bureau data, alternate data. Creating Scorecards and models for approval. Designing experiments to test cohort behavior and experimental policies. Automate reporting and tracking of the portfolio on multiple levels , Ops performance measures, key performance indicators and associated drivers.

What You Will Do

• Over the longer horizon, as the program scales you are expected to do the following:
• Owning an automated decisioning process and its outcome
• Creating 6 Month Risk roadmap
• Refine the Credit policies and create new policies to lend in unexplored segments
• Own end to end ML model development methodology : Feature creation, Model design and development, tuning, validating, monitoring and calibrating
• Coding up and maintaining BRE , automating credit policies as well as underwriting decisions if need be
• Independently drive and conceptualize projects on Risk and Data science
• Initially an IC role but expected to guide and manage a team of analysts and grow into leadership role

What You Will Need

• 3-6 years of relevant Fin-Tech experience, preferably in Digital Unsecured Lending, with products like BNPL, PL or consumer loan
• Strong RCA skills along with excellent critical thinking skills, combined with the ability to present your beliefs clearly and compellingly, both verbally and in written form to leadership
• Working knowledge of GCP, Vertex AI and cloud function for deployment
• Solid understanding of credit bureau data (CIBIL, Equifax, CRIF), and banking risk frameworks
• Expert in PD, EAD , LGD modeling in Python environment.
• Can identify use cases of AI to drive productivity internally in the team and in the decisioning process
