Job summary

JobItUs in Pune is seeking a senior Hardware Designer for automotive LED lighting products. You will lead hardware design, from schematic capture to EBOM release, and oversee product testing to ensure robustness and cost-effectiveness.

The role requires 8–10 years of hands-on experience in lighting electronics, knowledge of AIS/ECE/SAE lighting regulations, and strong Cadence Allegro skills. Collaboration with cross-functional teams is essential.

Qualifications

• 8–10 years of hands-on experience in lighting electronics, with automotive LED products.
• Experience with schematic review, PCB layouts, EBOM release, and product testing.
• Knowledge of AIS, ECE, SAE lighting regulations and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Hardware design and development for the product, including schematic and EBOM release.
• Own PCB layout, component selection, and testing plans for reliability.
• Perform HW failure analysis and troubleshooting to ensure robustness.
• Conduct thermal calculations, design verification, and EMI/EMC tests.
• Support risk assessment (DFMEA/ISO26262) and cost optimization targets.

Job description

• Good understanding of automotive communication protocols such as CAN, LIN, SPI, I2C, and UART.
• Good understanding of thermal management techniques for LED lighting and electronics applications.
• Familiarity with PLM tools, change management processes, and engineering documentation practices.
• Ability to review schematic designs, PCB layouts, and manufacturing documentation.
• Need at least 8 to 10 years of good experience in lighting electronics and good knowledge lighting products, legal requirements etc
• The person will be responsible for completion of project in a robust, reliable, and cost-effective manner.
• Able to work independently on Hardware Failure Analysis, trouble shooting.
• Hardware Designer is responsible for Hardware Design and Development for the product, responsible for schematic, EBOM release and product testing.
• Should have relevantHWdesign experience with automotive LED lighting products for example LED Headlamp, Front lighting, rear lighting etc
• Should have knowledge of legal and testing requirements regarding AIS, ECE, SAE regulation regarding lighting.
• Components selection and PCB layout Knowledge, cost optimization, alternate component assessment.
• HWRequirement Analysis related to Product, component selections, Schematic designing using Cadence Allegro tool chain.
• Hardware design Calculation, worst case analysis, performHWsimulation using Spice Tool.
• Performing Hardware Characterization and preparing design book, thermal calculations.
• Hardware Electrical test, EMI /EMC and functional tests.
• Safety Analysis of Hardware Design as per ISO26262 for functional safe developments, Understanding ofHWSafety analysis like: FMEDA, DFMEA, EFMEA, DFA and SRSC.

• Able to work effectively with Cross function teams to meet defined deadlines and time constraints.

• Understanding of microcontroller-based design for automotive applications like Renesas, NXP etc
• In depth understanding Cadence Allegro 17.4 Tool chain for schematic design and EBOM release.
• Understanding of CAN, LIN, I2C, SPI Protocols/ components.
• Design experience of power supply components Linear Driver, DC-DC converters, PWM, digital and analog interfaces.
• Experience on Circuit Simulation using tool like : Pspice / LTspice, Microcap
• Automotive ISO Electrical & EMC test standards knowledge with troubleshooting experience.
• Worst-case Analysis & Design calculations, Vehicle levelHWtesting/IO testing.

Qualification

• Knowledge of thermal simulation and power dissipation analysis techniques.
• Understanding of manufacturing processes, DFM (Design for Manufacturing), and DFT (Design for Testability).
• Experience in customer interaction, technical reviews, and supplier management activities.
• Drive technical decisions related to architecture, component selection, and risk mitigation.
• Support cost optimization, value engineering, and product lifecycle management activities.
