Job summary

Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. is seeking a Manager/DM - Data Protection Office to lead the data privacy program within the Data Protection Department in India.

You will drive compliance, governance and training to protect customer and employee data across the organization, while collaborating with IT, legal and business units. The role requires 6–10 years of regulatory compliance experience, LL.B, and relevant certifications; you will shape a robust privacy framework and oversee records management

Qualifications

• Essential: LL.B degree from a recognized university UGC/AICTE approved college/ institute with 06-10 years of experience in managing regulatory compliance and related advisory.
• Preferred: Knowledge and experience in data protection compliance.
• Certifications: CIPP, CIPM, or PMP are highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Customer Engagement: Handle customer data privacy inquiries/concerns professionally and efficiently, ensuring customer trust and compliance with privacy regulations
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work collaboratively with various departments to integrate data protection measures/compliances into business processes. Also collaborate with IT/DE teams to ensure alignment between legal requirements and technical measures
• Documentation and Record Keeping: Manage and maintain comprehensive records of data processing activities, incident logs, and compliance documentation
• Project Management: Excellent project management skills, including task assignment, deadline setting, and progress tracking
• Data Privacy framework: Assist in developing and implementing data privacy framework including data protection policies, procedures in business processes, ensuring they align with legal standards and organizational objectives
• Technology and Data Privacy: Stay abreast of technological advancements and their implications on data privacy, legislative and regulatory developments in the field of data protection and adapt strategies accordingly
• Training and Awareness: support DPO in conducting data protection training sessions to enhance awareness and understanding of data privacy responsibilities among employees.

The Manager/ DM -Data Protection Office (DATPRO) in the Data Protection Department will play a crucial role in maintaining the integrity and confidentiality of our customers, employees and other stakeholder’s personal data. The position requires a proactive approach to data privacy and the ability to foster a culture of data protection within the organization.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Work closely within team and other departments withing verticals, various internal business teams to ensure that data protection framework is integrated across the organization
• Collaborate with other verticals and department stakeholders to ensure that data protection data protection framework is integrated across the organization

b.External Clients

• Engage with data principle to address and resolve data privacy inquiries, ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction and trust in our data handling practices
• Engage, if required, with regulator for resolution of data privacy related matters and/or compliances.

QUALIFICATION AND SKILLS

Educational Qualifications

TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES

Hands-on experience in implementation of privacy framework

Experience in developing and delivering training on data privacy and data privacy advisories

Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, and MIS report preparation and data analysis.

Customer centric and outcome oriented.

Identify opportunities for process improvements within data management and reporting systems to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
