Job summary

Sarthee Consultancy is seeking an In-charge Auxiliary Outfitting on a ship construction site in India. The role leads installation, alignment, and pre-commissioning of auxiliary machinery, HVAC, and major mechanical outfitting equipment to ensure structural integrity and timely project execution.

The successful candidate will supervise planning, equipment handling, and critical alignment activities for pumps, compressors, purifiers, sewage treatments, and deck machinery, working to class rules

Qualifications

• 8–12 years of experience in shipbuilding/ship repair, with 4–6 years focused on auxiliary machinery installation and alignment in supervisory capacity.

Responsibilities

• Production planning and control: develop micro-plans for machinery mounting, alignment procedures, and ventilation outfitting schedules.
• Auxiliary machinery installation: supervise safe handling, lifting, and precise mounting of pumps, compressors, purifiers, sewage treatment plants, and auxiliary boilers.
• Machinery alignment and chocking: manage alignment, check coupling clearances, and secure bases.
• General mechanical outfitting and HVAC: direct installation of non-piping mechanical systems.

Job Summary

The In-charge Auxiliary Outfitting is the production leader responsible for the flawless execution of installation, precision alignment, and pre-commissioning of all Auxiliary Machinery, HVAC, and major mechanical outfitting equipment within the vessel. This critical role ensures the accurate mounting of pumps, compressors, purifiers, ventilation fans, and deck machinery, guaranteeing structural integrity, correct system integration, and adherence to Class rules and project schedules in the Ship Construction Site (SCS).

Role & responsibilities

• A. Production Planning & ControlDevelop detailed micro-plans for machinery mounting, alignment procedures, and ventilation/outfitting schedules.
• B. Auxiliary Machinery InstallationSupervise the safe handling, lifting, and precision mounting of all auxiliary equipment, including pumps, compressors, purifiers, sewage treatment plants, and auxiliary boilers.
• C. Machinery Alignment & ChockingDirectly manage the critical process of machinery alignment, including checking coupling clearances and securing bases.
• D. General Mechanical Outfitting & HVACDirect the installation of non-piping mechanical

Experience

8 to 12 years of experience in the Shipbuilding/Ship Repair sector, with a minimum of 4-6 years focused on the installation, alignment, and commissioning of shipboard Auxiliary Machinery and Mechanical Outfitting in a supervisory/in-charge capacity.
