State Street Corporation is seeking a Data Operations Specialist to support the Alpha Data platform, ensuring production integrity and data quality for client file delivery.   • Define current and future state operating models; document requirements.
  • Identify data issues and discrepancies; propose corrective actions.
  • Document features/functions per business specs for changes.
  • Provide status reports to senior management and stakeholders.
  • Assist in onboarding and setup of critical client operations.

The State Street’s Alpha Data team is seeking an experienced and versatile Data Operations Specialist with business solutions and data analysis expertise to help us build and sustain our client’s data capabilities and competitive advantage using the Alpha services and product offerings. The successful candidate will have knowledge of tools and techniques used for efficient data management, outstanding collaboration expertise as well as communication and technical skills that enable process optimization and automation. This role is part of broader Alpha Data Operations team and the candidate will have an opportunity to work directly with implementation, service management and IT teams across the globe.

What you will be responsible for
  • Maintain the Production/CUAT environment to reflect daily activity.
  • Become an SME in the DataGX Alpha platform, Act as the point of contact for relevant client queries relating to their data and client file delivery.
  • Track and resolve source of quality issues; Perform daily operational activities including SMF, BM, Analytics validations and Data Warehouse data processing.
  • Work independently to research and resolve problems considering multiple avenues for resolution.
  • Define and document current and future state operating models as required.
  • Manages the identification of issues and gaps in data provided or discrepancies in data between legacy presentation and the future state model, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Define and document features and functions, within the business specifications, in support of requested changes.
  • Provide periodic and ad hoc status reporting to senior management and relevant stakeholders.
  • Take manager role and oversees critical clients onboarding and operations model setup.
Ideal Candidate
  • Experience in the financial services industry or global consulting firm: preferably Middle Office/Back Office business processing Domain knowledge and be able to understand the various listed instrument types like Equities, Bonds, ETD and OTC Derivatives, Bank Loans, TBAs, etc.
  • Broad and in-depth understanding of standards, methodologies, processes, systems and technology necessary to support back office operations.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects/clients implementation concurrently and prioritize work accordingly.
  • Must have SQL knowledge, hands‑on experience with database/data warehouse skills.
  • Balance of Technical /Business.
  • Excellent analytical and interpersonal skills, verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong relationship management skills.
  • Flexibility in working outside of your responsibilities and areas of expertise.
  • Effective organizational, decision making, and communication skills.
