Digital Office – User Experience team ensures stability, availability and high performance of the IT infrastructure that serves Nokia. Communication is key enabler for innovation and high performance; IT Network Engineering designs, implements and manages globally the networking and voice infrastructure in Nokia including Public and Private Cloud, Datacenters, Security, IP services and all other aspects of connectivity for Nokia and partners.

What you will learn and contribute to:

Solution Designer for Datacenter Networks is responsible and accountable for Datacenter and Public Cloud network solution designs, including technical concept and design, configuration, functionality, processes, standardization and performance. This is a global position to support Nokia ongoing Digitalization and Cloud transformation. The Solution Designer for Datacenter Networks will work with “on premises DCs” as well as major Public Cloud Providers.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Understand Nokia IT and Business requirements and strategy for Applications and Datacenter services.
  • Understand security controls and policies, application deployment best practices and standards.
  • Engage with IT and Business stakeholders on requirements reviews and solutioning.
  • Design Datacenter and Public Cloud network solutions, including network segmentation, load balance and security solutions.
  • Define Processes and Operational Procedures for services in her/his area of responsibility.
  • Perform implementations (new or changes), implementation reviews or acceptance to ensure design compliance and gap mitigation.
  • Document solution design for various projects and deployment scenarios.
  • Support analysis of critical incidents and identify design related gaps that caused the incident to define preventive actions.
  • Drive automation and optimization of Datacenter and Public Cloud network solutions.

Your skills and experience:

You Have:

  • Bachelors’ degree or engineering degree in Telecommunications/Information Technology/Computer Science or equivalent.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
  • Minimum of 10+ years’ experience in network architect role, 3+ years experience in handling Datacenter network.
  • Strong Knowledge in switching, routing and load balancing.
  • Experience in handling large enterprise network environment.
  • Experience with Nokia Service Routers and Nokia SR Linux products.
  • Experience with HPN switches.
  • Experience with F5 load balancers.
  • Proficient in Standard Network infra protocols such as OSPF, BGP, QoS, VRRP, VxLAN etc.
  • Experience in network design and deployment.

It would be nice if you also had:

  • Understanding of Infrastructure as Code.
  • Experience in automation and orchestration.
  • Knowledge in the areas of operating systems such as Red Hat, Ubuntu would be a plus.
  • Good understanding of other network protocols like DHCP, DNS, IPsec, TLS etc.
  • Knowledge in Firewall products and solutions.
  • Experience in IPv6 deployment.
  • Understanding of ITIL processes.

Additional Information:

  • United States Salary Range: $101,000 to $187,720.
