Job summary

ePlane is seeking an aerospace engineer to join its Airworthiness group in Chennai, applying mechanical systems expertise across airframe design and analysis and transmission systems for an electric propulsion VTOL aircraft. You will interact with multiple design teams to ensure DGCA design requirements are met for Type Certification and ITSO authorization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace/Aeronautical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field.
• Working experience in fixed/rotary wing aircraft/UAV/VTOL aircraft structural design and analysis
• Good knowledge in composite materials.
• Experience with load calculations and optimization of aircraft structures.
• Understanding of Mechanical Systems
• Experience in developing safety critical analysis for aerostructures and mechanical systems
• Knowledge in DGCA rules & regulations specifically on aircraft Type Certification, design organization approval and ITSO authorisation.
• Master’s degree in Aerospace or Structural Engineering.
• Previously worked on development of composite based drones or aircraft
• Understanding of CS/FAR-23 or CS/FAR-27 regulations of EASA / FAA
• Prior experience in working on Type certification and ITSO authorisation
• Knowledge of Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Root Cause Analysis (RCA), and Lean methodologies.
• Experience in maintenance, reliability analysis, and risk assessment.
• Understanding of Prototype manufacturing of aircraft
• Knowledge in preparation of technical documents and manuals for the type certification.

Job description

The Airworthiness group at ePlane company is looking for someone with experience in Mechanical systems specifically across airframe design & analysis and transmission systems for ePlane’s electric propulsion VTOL aircraft, to interact with ePlane design groups for the compliance of DGCA’s applicable design requirements for the Type Certification of the aircraft.

Computational modelling, Finite element analysis (FEA), CAD software (such as CATIA, SolidWorks)

Must-Have:
