Job summary

Ubifly Technologies is seeking an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (Electrical) to support ground and flight testing of our eVTOL aircraft at IIT Madras Discovery Campus. The role involves hands-on maintenance, inspection, installation, and testing of electrical propulsion systems and avionics under expert supervision.

You will gain exposure to high‑voltage systems, battery management, EWIS, and GTV operations, with emphasis on safety, documentation, and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• AME/Diploma in Electrical engineering is required.
• Minimum 1 year relevant experience in aircraft/UAV/eVTOL maintenance.
• Knowledge of DGCA requirements is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, maintain, and repair motors, propellers, and high-voltage systems.
• Install and troubleshoot battery systems, HV circuits, and propulsion interfaces.
• Inspect EWIS, routing, bonding, grounding, clamping and protection.
• Perform insulation resistance and functional checks with approved test equipment.
• Support avionics, flight control, navigation, and sensor systems.
• Lead GTV/prototype readiness and post-test inspections.
• Document findings and corrective actions accurately.

Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (Electrical)

• The Aircraft Maintenance Engineer/ Diploma Trainee will play a crucial role in the maintenance for ground & flight testing of our Aircrafts within our state-of-the‑art testing facility. We are looking for highly motivated and dedicated AME’s/ Diploma Trainee (Electrical engineering) to join our company as Aircraft Maintenance Engineer/ Diploma Trainee. The AME’s will support the maintenance, inspection, installation, and testing of next‑generation electric Vertical Take‑Off and Landing (eVTOL) aircraft. The role provides hands‑on exposure to electric propulsion systems, batteries, avionics, wiring, and ground test vehicle (GTV) operations, under the supervision of experts.
  

Required Qualifications:

• Education: AME/ Diploma in Electrical engineering
  
• Experience:
  
• Minimum 1 Year relevant experience in aircraft / Helicopter/ UAV / eVTOL/ advanced aerospace systems maintenance.
  
• Knowledge on DGCA requirements is an added advantage.
  

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform inspection, maintenance, and repair of critical components like motors & propellers.
  
• Carry out installation, inspection, maintenance and troubleshooting of high‑voltage circuits, battery systems and electric propulsion interfaces.
  
• Maintain and inspect electrical wiring interconnection systems (EWIS), including routing, bonding, grounding, clamping, and protection.
  
• Perform continuity, insulation resistance, and functional checks using approved test equipment.
  
• Install, inspect, and maintain avionics systems including:
  
• Flight control and actuation systems.
  
• Navigation, communication, and sensor systems.
  
• Integrated vehicle management and monitoring systems.
  
• Conduct system integration checks, functional tests, and troubleshooting activities.
  
• Support software loading, configuration verification, and system validation under approved procedures.
  
• Maintain accurate documentation of findings and corrective actions.
  
• Lead maintenance and readiness activities for Ground Test Vehicles (GTVs) and prototype aircrafts, including pre-test, turn‑around test and post-test inspections.
  
• Assist in test setup, instrumentation connections, data cable management, and test‑area readiness.
