The ideal candidate brings 15+ years in software engineering with deep GenAI expertise and practical experience across AWS/Azure/GCP, embedding/vector databases, and governance practices.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of software engineering/technology experience with hands-on AI/GenAI.

Role Overview

We are looking for a hands-on AI/GenAI Technical Architect to lead our AI transformation and build our GenAI engineering capabilities. The role will define the organization's AI roadmap, architecture standards, training strategy and reusable AI accelerators, while working closely with engineering teams and clients to deliver production-grade AI solutions.

The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in GenAI, LLMs, RAG, Agentic AI and cloud technologies, with proven experience taking AI solutions from POC to enterprise production.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and drive the organization-wide AI/GenAI roadmap, strategy and technology architecture.
• Lead the design and implementation of LLM, RAG, AI Agent and Agentic AI and cloud native solutions for retail and digital commerce.
• Build and continuously evolve the organization's AI Center of Excellence (CoE).
• Establish enterprise standards for AI architecture, prompt/context engineering, evaluation, guardrails, security, governance and responsible AI.
• Lead the transition of AI POCs/MVPs into scalable, secure and production-ready solutions.
• Build reusable AI frameworks, accelerators, platforms and engineering standards.
• Evaluate and integrate leading foundation models including OpenAI/Azure OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini, Llama and other models.
• Drive AI application performance, scalability, observability, reliability and cost optimization.
• Lead AI technical training and capability development across the organization, including structured learning programs for architects, developers and engineering teams.
• Mentor and guide senior AI/ML, architecture and software engineering teams.
• Partner with CXOs and retail clients to identify AI/GenAI opportunities and translate business problems into solutions.
• Lead pre-sales, solutioning, RFP/RFI responses, proposals, estimations, presentations and SOW development.
• Conduct architecture and technical design reviews and provide technical leadership across AI engagements.

Required Skills & Experience

• 15+ years of software engineering/technology experience, with significant hands-on AI/GenAI experience.
• Strong expertise in Generative AI, LLMs, RAG and Agentic AI.
• Experience with AWS, Azure and/or GCP, including platforms such as Azure OpenAI, AWS Bedrock or Vertex AI.
• Strong understanding of embeddings, vector databases, prompt/context engineering and LLM evaluation.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Git, CI/CD and modern software engineering practices.
• Strong understanding of AI security, governance, privacy and responsible AI.
• Proven experience building enterprise AI platforms, accelerators or AI CoEs.
• Strong retail, digital commerce or customer experience domain experience preferred.
• Excellent communication, consulting, stakeholder management and client‑facing skills.
