Job summary

SVaaN Global Tech Pvt Ltd in Chennai seeks a software/AI systems engineer to design, build, deploy, and operate end-to-end AI systems for real business use cases. You will craft AI agent workflows with tool calling, memory, and structured outputs, and develop robust RAG and vector-based retrieval solutions.

You will own scalable backend services in Node.js or Java Spring Boot, plus production-ready frontend work with React/TypeScript, and ensure secure, audited deployments.

Qualifications

• 4–6 years of software engineering or AI systems experience.
• Hands-on with LLM/Generative AI in production.
• Strong backend/frontend stack experience (Node.js/React/TS).

Responsibilities

• Design, build, deploy, and operate end-to-end AI systems for real business use cases.
• Build AI agent systems with tool calling, orchestration, memory and outputs.
• Develop RAG and retrieval systems using embeddings and vector search.
• Governance, audits, access controls, and security for AI systems.
• Create evaluation frameworks for performance, quality, cost, and latency.
• Develop scalable backend services with Node.js or Java Spring Boot; Python is a plus.
• Build REST APIs, asynchronous workflows, queues, caching, and real-time comms.
• Develop production-ready frontend apps using React.js, Next.js, and TypeScript.
• Work with PostgreSQL/SQL including vector search and indexing.
• Implement authentication and authorization (OAuth2, OpenID Connect, JWT, RBAC).
• Own deployments using Docker and CI/CD; ensure monitoring and observability.
• Tackle architectural problems from design to production support.
• Work independently on ambiguous problems and propose practical solutions.

Role & Responsibilities

• Design, build, deploy, and operate end-to-end AI systems for real business use cases.
• Build AI agent systems involving tool/function calling, multi-step orchestration, memory, state management, and structured outputs.
• Develop RAG and retrieval systems using embeddings, vector search, pgvector, or other vector databases.
• Design governance and control mechanisms for AI systems, including approval workflows, audit trails, access controls, and security controls.
• Build evaluation frameworks to measure AI system performance, quality, reliability, cost, and latency.
• Develop scalable backend services using Node.js or Java Spring Boot, with Python as an added advantage.
• Build and maintain REST APIs, asynchronous workflows, background jobs, queues, retries, caching, and real-time communication.
• Develop production-ready frontend applications using React.js, Next.js, and TypeScript.
• Work with PostgreSQL/SQL, including database design, indexing, transactions, query optimisation, and vector search.
• Implement authentication and authorization using OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, SSO, JWT, and RBAC.
• Own deployments using Docker and CI/CD and ensure proper monitoring and observability of production systems.
• Take ownership of technical problems from architecture and design through development, deployment, and production support.
• Work independently on ambiguous business problems and propose practical technical solutions.

Preferred candidate profile

• 4-6 years of experience in software engineering, full-stack development, or AI systems engineering. Candidates with fewer years may also be considered if they demonstrate strong end-to-end system ownership.
• Strong hands-on experience in building and deploying LLM/Generative AI applications for real users or production environments.
• Experience with AI Agents, Agentic Workflows, Tool Calling, Function Calling, RAG, Embeddings, Vector Search, and LLM Evaluation.
• Strong backend expertise in Node.js or Java Spring Boot. Python experience is a strong advantage.
• Hands-on experience with React.js, Next.js, and TypeScript.
• Strong experience in PostgreSQL, SQL, database design, indexing, query optimisation, and vector databases/pgvector.
• Experience implementing OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, SSO, JWT, RBAC, and API security in production environments.
• Hands-on experience with Docker, CI/CD, deployment, monitoring, and observability.
• Experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP will be an added advantage.
• Exposure to LangChain, LangGraph, MCP, Kafka, RabbitMQ, open-source models, voice, or multimodal AI is desirable.
• Must demonstrate strong system ownership, problem-solving ability, technical judgement, and the ability to work independently.
• Candidates who can showcase a GitHub repository, live application, technical write-up, or architecture document of a system they have personally built will be preferred.
• Candidates should be comfortable working on-site from Chennai.
