Job summary

Urban School is seeking an innovative AI & Robotics Educator to lead our Innovation/Robotics Lab in Hyderabad. You will guide students to build, wire, program, and think critically about AI and automated systems beyond screen-based learning.

Requirements include a Bachelor's degree in a STEM field and teaching certification. The role focuses on hands-on, project-based classes in robotics, electronics, and software with a strong emphasis on practical problem solving for K–12 students.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Robotics, Mechatronics, Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, or STEM Education.
• Valid State Teaching Certification/License (or eligibility to obtain one) preferred.
• Ability to guide students through troubleshooting and debugging.
• Ability to translate complex concepts into age-appropriate milestones.

Responsibilities

• Lead hands-on AI, robotics, and coding classes in a state-of-the-art Innovation/Robotics Lab.
• Design and deliver project-based lessons incorporating hardware, sensors, and microcontrollers.
• Teach core technical concepts from Scratch/Blockly to Python, ML models, and computer vision.
• Foster critical thinking, experimentation, and safe lab practices.

Position Overview

We are looking for an innovative, tech-savvy, and highly enthusiastic AI & Robotics Educator to inspire our next generation of engineers and programmers. In this role, you will lead our state-of-the-art Innovation/Robotics Lab, taking students beyond the screen. Your mission is to teach students how to build, wire, program, and think critically about the artificial intelligence and automated systems shaping our world.

Required Qualifications & Skills

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Robotics, Mechatronics, Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, or STEM Education.

Licensure: Valid State Teaching Certification/License (or eligibility to obtain one), preferably in Computer Science, Technology/Engineering, or Physics (adjust based on your school's requirements)

Technical Troubleshooting: The ability to look at a student's broken wiring diagram or buggy code and guide them to find the solution.

Patience & Simplification: A rare talent for translating complex engineering math and advanced coding logic into exciting, understandable milestones for kids and teenager

Deliver hands-on, project-based classes in robotics, hardware engineering, coding, and foundational Artificial Intelligence (AI).Teach core technical concepts at an age-appropriate level, including:

• Hardware & Mechanics: Designing and building physical robots using structural kits, gears, motors, and sensors.
• Electronics: Introducing basic circuitry, breadboarding, and microcontrollers (e.g., Arduino, Raspberry Pi).

Software & AI: Teaching computational logic, starting with block-based coding (Scratch, Blockly) and progressing to Python basics, machine learning models, and computer vision.
