Job summary

Corning is seeking an AI Products Software Engineer, Fullstack, to lead the development and ownership of internal Generative AI capabilities from Pune, India. You will define the product roadmap, collaborate with business units, and scale GenAI offerings across Corning's devices and software platforms.

The role requires hands-on frontend and backend work, strong architecture focus, and close collaboration with cross‑functional teams to drive adoption and impact of GenAI solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/IT or related field required.
• Minimum 5+ years of experience with 3+ years as a full-stack developer or similar role.
• Experience building GenAI applications and using Hugging Face.

Responsibilities

• Design frontend patterns and architectures.
• Develop frontend with Vue.js and responsive design approaches.
• Build backend services with multiple stacks, integrate APIs and databases.
• Elicit requirements from business partners and translate into solutions.
• Design, develop, test, deploy and monitor custom apps using Vue.js, Flask, and Hugging Face.
• Collaborate with patterns team to reuse or contribute design patterns.
• Participate in architecture and software development activities.
• Translate loosely defined requirements into practical solutions.
• Debug production issues across services and components.

Position Summary:

The D&IT AI Platform & Products team is seeking an experienced and hands‑on Product Owner to lead the development and ownership of our internal Generative AI capabilities. The successful candidate will work closely with businesses to understand their Gen AI needs, identify high‑value opportunities, and deliver impactful AI solutions. This role requires strategic thinking, high-level understanding of LLM capabilities, and collaboration with cross‑functional teams to drive the successful implementation and adoption of GenAI solutions across Corning’s businesses. You will define the product’s roadmap, oversee its management, and ensure alignment with business priorities and objectives. In this role, you will also work cross functionally to scale and grow AI functions that support future business growth.

Responsibilities:

• Application software design patterns and software architecture
• Front‑end development with a variety of web frameworks using both reactive and responsive design techniques as appropriate
• Back‑end development with multiple development stacks using authentication, network and storage APIs, serialization and deserialization, server‑side application development using object oriented and functional programming techniques as needed and programmatic SQL for data access
• Elicit requirements from our business partners to build applications and translate into a solution.
• Design & develop, test, deploy and monitor custom applications using a variety of application frameworks and systems like vuejs, flask, and huggingface
• Work with the patterns and platforms team to confirm design and leverage existing patterns and/or contribute to patterns catalog
• Participate in architecture and software development activities
• Translate loosely defined requirements into solutions
• Debug production issues across services, at all component levels

Education & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
• Certification in AWS cloud infrastructure preferred.
• Minimum 5+ years’ experience with 3+ years proven experience as a fullstack developer or similar role in a digital technology organization.

Required Skills:

• Strong technical collaboration and communication skills as well as the ability to drive cultural change and adoption of best practices through community participation
• Ability to collaborate with other teams across the company, defining technology roadmaps, sharing experiences and lessons learned for continual improvement
