Job summary

The NineHertz is seeking a senior full stack software engineer who excels at AI-assisted coding and building with a modern stack. You’ll work across the stack with React, Next.js, and Python (FastAPI), using Claude Code, Cursor, or Copilot to design and ship features quickly without compromising quality.

You’ll own architecture decisions, mentor juniors, and collaborate with product and design to prototype and iterate rapidly. AWS deployment and PostgreSQL design are core parts of the role.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of professional full stack software engineering experience.

• Proficient Python/FastAPI development.
• Experience deploying and managing services on AWS and PostgreSQL databases.

Job description

We're looking for a senior full stack software engineer who is excellent at building with AI‑assisted tools as part of their core workflow. You'll work across the stack — React, Next.js, and Python (FastAPI) — using tools like Claude Code, Cursor, or Copilot to design, build, and ship features quickly without compromising on quality. This role comes with high ownership — you'll be making architecture and design decisions, not just executing tickets.

What You’ll Do

• Architect and build frontend applications using React and Next.js
• Design and build scalable backend services and APIs using Python (FastAPI)
• Use AI-assisted coding tools daily as part of your development workflow, and help shape how the team adopts them
• Design and manage databases, primarily PostgreSQL
• Deploy and maintain services on AWS
• Integrate ML models and LLM APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic, etc.) into product features
• Make key technical decisions around architecture, scalability, and code quality
• Write clean, well‑tested, production‑ready code with strong unit test coverage
• Debug, optimize, and maintain services across the full stack
• Mentor junior engineers and review code across the team
• Collaborate closely with product and design to prototype and iterate quickly

What We’re Looking For

• Strong hands‑on experience with React and Next.js
• Strong hands‑on experience with Python/FastAPI
• Solid understanding of system design, scalability, and architecture tradeoffs
• Good working knowledge of PostgreSQL or similar relational databases
• Experience deploying and managing services on AWS
• Daily, practical experience using AI coding assistants — not just familiarity, actual workflow integration
• Strong track record of writing tested, maintainable, production‑grade code
• Exposure to ML concepts/models — using or integrating them into products
• Strong debugging skills and good judgment on when AI‑generated code needs a second look
• Excellent communication skills — able to explain tradeoffs and mentor others
