Job summary

Air Maniax India is seeking an AI-native developer who uses AI coding tools as a core part of the software workflow. You should turn loosely defined ideas into working, tested software quickly—and take full responsibility for code quality, including AI-generated code.

You will work directly with the owner in short feedback cycles, build and validate changes in a sandbox, and collaborate with a dedicated tester before any release.

Qualifications

• 2+ years building real-world web apps.
• Strong TypeScript/JavaScript and React skills; Next.js experience is a plus.
• Solid SQL knowledge, including schema understanding, queries, migrations and data validation.
• Practical experience using AI coding agents as a core development tool, with ability to assess and verify output.

Responsibilities

• Translate product ideas and business requirements into working web application features.
• Use AI coding agents to accelerate implementation, debugging, refactoring, test creation and documentation.
• Review AI-generated code for correctness, security, maintainability, performance and consistency with the existing codebase.
• Build and maintain web applications using TypeScript/JavaScript and React; use Next.js where appropriate.
• Work with SQL databases, understand schemas, write queries, prepare migrations and independently validate data.
• Use Git confidently, including branches, merges, conflict resolution and clean commits.
• Write automated tests for important logic and manually test complete user journeys across desktop, tablet and mobile.
• Verify user-facing details, including forms, buttons, labels, calculations and workflows.
• Provide concise change notes, test evidence and simple instructions for non-technical stakeholders.
• Build and validate changes in an approved sandbox environment. Do not deploy to live systems; releases remain under the owner's control.

Role Summary

We are looking for an AI-native developer who uses AI coding tools as a primary part of the software development workflow. You should be able to turn a loosely defined idea into working, tested software quickly—and take full responsibility for the quality of the code, including code generated by AI.

You will work directly with the owner in short feedback cycles, build and validate changes in a safe sandbox environment, and collaborate with a dedicated tester before any release. All live releases will remain under the owner's control.

Who You Are

• AI-first by habit: You regularly build with AI coding agents such as Claude Code, Cursor, GitHub Copilot or similar tools, and know how to use them effectively on real codebases.
• A sharp reviewer: You treat AI-generated code like a junior developer's pull request. You inspect it, challenge assumptions, verify behaviour and catch plausible but incorrect output before it ships.
• An owner, not a ticket-taker: You turn loosely described needs into clear requirements, ask the important questions and deliver end to end without constant follow-up.
• Fast and careful: You deliver small changes quickly but never mark work complete until you have tested and verified it.
• Product-minded: You notice confusing screens, inaccurate labels and awkward workflows, and improve the user experience proactively.
• Honest about status: You communicate whether work is done, partly done, untested or broken, and raise risks early.

Required Skills And Experience

• At least 2 years of experience building and maintaining real-world web applications.
• Strong TypeScript/JavaScript and React skills; Next.js experience is an advantage.
• Solid SQL knowledge, including schema understanding, queries, migrations and data validation.
• Confident use of Git, including branches, merges, conflict resolution and clean commits.
• Practical experience using AI coding agents as a core development tool, with the ability to assess and verify their output.
• Strong testing habits, including automated tests for logic and hands-on checks across desktop, tablet and phone screen sizes.
• Clear written English, including concise change notes and instructions for non-technical users.
• Strong ownership, product judgement, attention to detail and transparent communication.

Good to Have

• Experience creating prompts, rules or workflows that make AI agents more reliable for a team.
• Experience with billing, payments, bookings or other systems where incorrect calculations can have financial consequences.
• Familiarity with cloud hosting and managed databases such as Vercel, Supabase or similar services.
• Proficiency in Hindi or Gujarati.

How You Will Work

• Work directly with the owner through short feedback cycles: idea → working version → feedback → completion.
• Develop and test changes in an approved sandbox environment.
• Collaborate with a dedicated Software Tester who validates changes before release.
• Communicate progress, limitations, test results and risks clearly, without overstating completion.

How Success Will Be Measured

• Changes are accepted on the first review wherever requirements and scope are clear.
• No work is left half-finished or delivered with known, unreported breakages.
• Useful software is delivered consistently each week without compromising correctness, security or maintainability.
• AI-generated code is reviewed and verified, with appropriate tests and clear change notes accompanying each change.

Selection Process

• 20-minute introductory call: Discuss what you have built and how you use AI coding tools in your day-to-day work.
• Short paid practical task: Fix real issues in a test copy using your preferred AI tools, add relevant tests and write a change note.
• Review discussion: Walk through your solution, demonstrate where the AI made mistakes and explain how you identified and corrected them.
