Job summary

smartData is seeking an AI/ML-focused engineer to drive model development, fine-tuning, and deployment for cutting-edge AI solutions. You will work on NLP, computer vision, and generative AI tasks, leveraging PyTorch, TensorFlow, Hugging Face, and LangChain/LlamaIndex.

You will implement RAG pipelines, embeddings, and vector databases, collaborate with clients, and optimize prompts and AI agents. Knowledge of Docker, FastAPI, Kubernetes, and cloud platforms is required.

Qualifications

• Strong proficiency in Python and scalable coding practices.
• Hands-on AI/ML model development, fine-tuning and deployment.
• Deep understanding of ML, DL, NLP, CV and Generative AI.
• Proficient with PyTorch, TensorFlow, Hugging Face, Scikit-learn; LangChain/LlamaIndex.
• Experience with RAG, embeddings, vector stores, and semantic search.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end AI/ML development lifecycle from design to deployment.
• Collaborate across teams; integrate models into production.
• Lead prompt engineering and multi-agent workflows; ensure robust tool calling.

Primary Focus

AI/ML Model Development, Fine-tuning, Agentic AI, and Generative AI.

Technical Requirements

• Strong proficiency in Python and production-ready, scalable coding practices.
• Hands-on experience in AI/ML model development, fine-tuning, and deployment.
• Strong understanding of Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Natural Language Processing (NLP), Computer Vision, and Generative AI.
• Hands-on experience with PyTorch, TensorFlow, Hugging Face, Scikit-learn, and LangChain/LlamaIndex.
• Experience with RAG, embeddings, vector databases, and semantic search.
• Experience with OpenAI, Claude, Gemini, Llama, prompt engineering, AI agents, multi-agent workflows, and tool/function calling.
• Experience with Docker, FastAPI, Kubernetes, MLflow, and AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Hands-on experience with SQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and Pinecone, Weaviate, ChromaDB, or Milvus.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Voice AI (Whisper, Deepgram, TTS/STT) and multimodal AI.
• Knowledge of LoRA, PEFT, quantization, MCP, AI orchestration frameworks, and GPU/inference optimization.

Project Management & Soft Skills

• Experience using Jira for story creation, sprint planning, estimation, bug tracking, and Agile project management.
• Strong participation in Agile/Scrum with the ability to independently own, track, and deliver tasks on time.
• Strong English communication skills, client collaboration, and end-to-end project ownership.
