Job summary

UnitedHealth Group in Hyderabad seeks an experienced AI/ML engineer to design and deliver scalable GenAI-focused solutions, with hands-on Java/Spring, React, and Kafka work. You will integrate AI into enterprise apps using Azure services and collaborate with product and development teams.

The role requires 6+ years in AI/ML, proficiency in Python and ML frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow), and strong communication skills for stakeholder engagement. Agile experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science/IT/Math/Statistics/Engineering, or equivalent work experience.
• 6+ years of experience in AI/ML engineering or related fields.
• Hands-on experience with Java, Spring Boot, Camunda, Node.js, Next.js, GraphQL, Kafka.
• Hands-on experience with React, TypeScript, web components, Parcel components.
• Experience with Snowflake/Big Data for Reporting.
• Proven Python skills and ML frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow).
• Strong written and verbal communication; able to present to stakeholders.
• Collaborative, able to coordinate with business and stakeholders; able to deliver complete technical solutions.

• Collaborate with product and development teams to deliver features on time.
• Own a feature end-to-end, guiding the team to meet deadlines.
• Own the applications tech stack and drive modern solutions to complex problems.
• Explain and interpret technical aspects within area of expertise to stakeholders.
• Work on AI/ML integration focusing on GenAI, LLMs, and RAG architectures.
• Integrate AI solutions into enterprise apps using Azure services.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Be able to understand the feature requirements from the product and be able to come up with Technical Solutions keeping in mind the Scalability, Extensibility, Security, Cost etc. Come up with a plan break down the feature in workable stories. Work closely with Product & Development team
• Work collaboratively with the team and should be able to help others on technical issues or functional questions they might have
• Be able to own a feature and run through with the team and deliver on agreed upon timelines
• Own the applications technology stack and drive modern solutions to complex problems
• Provides explanations and interpretations within area of expertise
• Actively participate in projects deliverables within the Java Spring Framework, API, Angular, react and Kafka
• Design and implement AI/ML solutions with a focus on GenAI, LLMs, and RAG architectures and LLM evaluation frameworks

Integrate AI solutions into enterprise applications using Azure Services like Azure Document Intelligence Service

• Comply with all applicable Company policies, procedures, and business directives, changes including those relating to work location, team assignments, work schedules, and flexible work arrangements

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science/IT/Math/Statistics/Engineering, or equivalent work experience
• 6+ years of overall experience in in AI/ML engineering or related fields
• Hands on experience on Java, Spring boot, Camunda, Node.js , Next.js, Graphql, Kafka
• Hands on experience on React, Typescript, Familiarity with web components/ Parcel component
• Experience with Snowflake/Big Data for Reporting
• Proven solid programming skills in Python and experience with ML frameworks (eg, PyTorch, TensorFlow)
• Proven good written and verbal communication skills and be comfortable presenting to all stake holders
• Proven good communicator and can coordinate well with business and other stake holders
• Proven solid in analyzing & providing complete technical solutions for the given problems

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in health care industry
• Experience working in Agile environment
