Job summary

UnitedHealth Group in India is seeking a Software Engineering Lead to design, develop, and maintain AI-driven applications using Python, and to build scalable cloud-native solutions on Azure/AWS. You will implement IaC, manage CI/CD pipelines, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software.

The role requires strong technical leadership, experience with SQL Server, Python, and cloud platforms, and the ability to work in an Agile environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 5+ years of SQL Server, T-SQL, Stored Procedures experience.
• 5+ years Python programming and application development.
• 2+ years Azure and/or AWS cloud platforms experience.
• 2+ years IaC using Terraform, Ansible, Bicep, or similar tools.
• Experience designing scalable enterprise applications and services.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to work well in an Agile environment.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain AI-driven applications and automation solutions using Python
• Develop, optimize, and support SQL Server databases, T-SQL queries, and stored procedures for business and AI workloads
• Build and deploy cloud-native solutions on Azure and/or AWS platforms
• Implement and manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform, Ansible, Bicep, or similar technologies
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines to enable automated build, testing, and deployment processes
• Collaborate with business and engineering teams to gather requirements and deliver scalable technology solutions
• Integrate AI capabilities, APIs, and enterprise systems to improve business processes and user experiences
• Perform code reviews, troubleshoot production issues, and ensure adherence to security and engineering best practices
• Monitor application performance, reliability, and scalability across cloud environments
• Contribute to front-end development using React.js or Angular when required
• Comply with all applicable Company policies, procedures, and business directives, changes including those relating to work location, team assignments, work schedules, and flexible work arrangements

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field
• 5+ years of experience with SQL Server, T-SQL, Stored Procedures, and database development
• 5+ years of hands‑on experience in Python programming and application development
• 2+ years of experience working with Azure and/or AWS cloud platforms
• 2+ years of experience implementing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform, Ansible, Bicep, or similar tools
• Experience designing, developing, and supporting scalable enterprise applications and services
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated deployments, and DevOps practices
• Solid understanding of software development lifecycle, coding standards, and troubleshooting methodologies
• Demonstrated solid analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a collaborative Agile environment

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with React.js, Angular, or other modern web technologies
• Experience with API development, microservices, and cloud‑native architectures
• Experience building AI‑driven solutions, copilots, chatbots, or intelligent automation platforms
• Exposure to DevSecOps practices and automation frameworks
• Knowledge of Generative AI, LLMs, AI Agents, Prompt Engineering, or AI‑powered application development
