Job summary

Envisstack is looking for AI internship interns to join an engagement team building production AI systems for Indian businesses. You will work on WhatsApp support agents, document readers for invoices, and SOP-based assistants with real client impact.

You will collaborate with a senior engineer, learn by doing, and deliver production-quality work with reviews. This internship emphasizes real work, safety, and a portfolio of produced outputs.

Qualifications

• Final-year or recent degree in computer science, IT, engineering, mathematics, statistics or a related subject, or equivalent self-taught work you can show us.
• Working Python. You can write a script that reads files, calls an API and handles errors.
• Basic SQL and Git.
• At least one project you built yourself, ideally public, that you can explain end to end, including what did not work.
• Clear written English. Hindi, Marathi or another Indian language is a real plus for our work.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain evaluation sets: collect real examples, write the expected answers with subject experts, and keep them versioned.
• Run evaluations, read the failures, and write short notes on the patterns you see.
• Build parts of retrieval pipelines: parsing documents, chunking, embedding, and testing search quality.
• Write small tools that agents call, such as a lookup against a customer database or a GST number check, with tests.
• Help prepare data safely: redact personal data, check formats for Aadhaar, PAN and GSTIN, and document where data came from.
• Join client workshops and take clear notes on how the work is really done.
• Write documentation that a client’s IT team can follow.
• How large language models behave on real Indian data, including Hindi, Marathi and Hinglish.
• How to measure an AI system and tell a real improvement from noise.
• Retrieval, agents, tool calling and guardrails, in production.
• How to work with clients: listening, asking good questions, and explaining trade-offs plainly.
• Git, code review, testing and deployment on a real team.

Most AI internships give you a sandbox. This one gives you a client.

You will join an engagement team building a production AI system for an Indian business: a WhatsApp support agent, a document reader for invoices, or an assistant that answers questions from a manufacturer’s SOPs. You will do real work that ships, with a senior engineer reviewing every change.

We are hiring interns because we believe the entry door to IT is narrowing, and that the way through it is proof of real work. You will leave with that proof.

Interns who do well may be offered a full-time AI Engineer role. Either way, you leave with a portfolio of production work, a reference, and a clear picture of how AI systems are built and measured.
