Overview
The AI Governance Analyst will support the organization in managing and governing AI use cases throughout their lifecycle. The role involves maintaining the AI Registry, coordinating risk assessments, approvals, policy exceptions, and compliance activities. The candidate will work closely with Security, Legal, Privacy, PMO, Procurement, and technology teams. Strong governance, documentation, analytical, stakeholder management, and risk assessment skills are required. Exposure to AI Governance, Responsible AI, Generative AI, or AI risk management is an added advantage.
Responsibilities
- Maintain the AI Registry as the system of record for AI use cases, tools, models, agents, owners, risk tiers, approvals, lifecycle status, and monitoring ownership.
- Review and validate AI use case submissions to ensure all required information is complete and accurate.
- Coordinate AI intake and risk assessment activities for new, in-progress, and operational AI initiatives.
- Support the completion of AI Risk Impact Assessments , covering security, privacy, data sensitivity, fairness/bias, transparency, reliability, autonomy, human oversight, legal, regulatory, reputational, and operational risks.
- Apply AI risk classification guidance and support the routing of use cases across Low, Medium, High, and Critical risk categories.
- Coordinate AI Policy Exception reviews for use cases that deviate from approved tools, models, data boundaries, use cases, or required controls.
- Prepare governance review materials for the AI Governance Committee , including use case summaries, risk findings, mitigation plans, control gaps, decision options, and recommended approval conditions.
- Maintain committee decision logs and action trackers , including approvals, rejections, conditional approvals, required controls, owners, due dates, and evidence requirements.
- Track post-approval control evidence , including monitoring plans, go-live readiness, human oversight controls, remediation actions, and applicable approval requirements.
- Support AI monitoring and audit activities , including compliance reviews, incidents, model drift indicators, remediation status, and lifecycle changes.
- Assist with Shadow AI tracking and remediation , including identifying and following up on unapproved AI usage.
- Maintain AI governance templates and artifacts, including SOPs, intake forms, risk assessment templates, model cards, data sheets, exception records, decision briefs, and evidence repositories .
- Coordinate with Security, Legal, PMO, Procurement, and business/technical teams to ensure required reviews, risk mitigations, privacy assessments, and approval gates are completed before production deployment.
- Support third-party AI and vendor governance , including tracking AI capabilities, embedded AI functionality, auditability requirements, incident reporting expectations, and compliance evidence.
- Support Responsible AI awareness and adoption , including guidance on approved AI tools, human-in-the-loop expectations, transparency, data protection, and responsible AI practices.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of AI governance processes, workflows, risk assessment methodologies, approval gates, exception management, monitoring controls, reporting, metrics, and SOPs .
Requirements
- Experience in AI Governance, Governance/Risk/Compliance (GRC), Risk Management, Audit, Privacy, Information Security, PMO, Technology Delivery, or Enterprise Controls .
- Strong understanding of AI governance, risk assessment, compliance, responsible AI, and control frameworks .
- Experience maintaining governance registries, trackers, documentation, evidence repositories, and decision logs .
- Strong analytical and documentation skills with the ability to review information, identify gaps, and coordinate remediation activities.
- Ability to translate governance requirements into clear and practical actions for business and technical teams.
- Experience coordinating with cross-functional stakeholders such as Security, Legal, Privacy, Procurement, PMO, and Technology teams .
- Strong skills in Microsoft 365 , including Excel, SharePoint, Teams, PowerPoint, and workflow/tracking tools.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, follow-up, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to prepare clear governance reports, committee presentations, risk summaries, and decision materials .
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple AI governance activities, deadlines, and stakeholders.
- Understanding of AI lifecycle management, AI risk classification, human oversight, data protection, and responsible AI principles is preferred.
- Exposure to Generative AI, Agentic AI, AI risk management frameworks, or AI regulatory requirements is an added advantage
