Job summary

S&P Global's Collection Platforms & AI team is seeking a senior data software engineer to develop AI-powered products and scalable data pipelines. You will design production-grade systems and work in a global, collaborative environment.

You will own Snowflake migrations, optimize performance, and integrate with BI tools while mentoring others and driving cost efficiency. 5+ years of Python/SQL experience required.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience in developing complex software systems applications - 5+ years.
• Proficiency in Python and SQL.
• Expertise in Snowflake architecture and large-scale migrations.
• Strong understanding of performance tuning, security, and cost optimization.
• Experience integrating Snowflake with BI tools.

Responsibilities

• Modernize and enhance core enterprise systems, migrate platforms and workloads, and consolidate tools/technology stacks to improve reliability, security, scalability, and cost-efficiency
• Build production-ready data acquisition and transformation pipelines from ideation to deployment
• Hands-on problem solver developing data platforms and extending data pipelines
• Contribute to architecture design and development of end-to-end data ingestion and processing pipelines
• Define best practices for data modeling, performance optimization, and governance

About the Role

The Team

As part of the Collection Platforms & AI team you will work on building AI powered products and capabilities to power natural language understanding, data extraction, information retrieval and data sourcing solutions for S&P Global and our clients. You will spearhead development of production-ready AI products and pipelines while leading-by-example in a highly engaging work environment. You will work in a global team and encouraged for thoughtful risk-taking and self-initiative.

Key Responsibilities

What We're Looking For

• Hands on experience in development of complex software systems applications - 5+ years
• Proficiency in Python and SQL
• Expertise in Snowflake architecture and large-scale migration projects
• Strong understanding of performance tuning, security, and cost optimization
• Experience integrating Snowflake with BI tools
• Bachelors/Masters (preferred) degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, or other quantitative disciplines

Nice to have

• LLMs and prompt engineering
• Experience building agentic solutions
