Job description

We are seeking a proactive and skilled Business Analyst specializing in the US Healthcare payer domain, to join our team dedicated to building innovative native AI-driven products. This role will serve as a critical bridge between complex business needs, cutting-edge AI capabilities, and technical solution delivery within our Customer Service Product Engineering team. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical abilities, exceptional communication skills, and a foundational understanding of AI/ML principles, enabling them to translate business problems into clear requirements for AI-powered solutions that enhance member and provider experiences.

  • AI Product Focus: Acts as a crucial link between business needs and technology solutions, with a specific focus on identifying, analyzing, and documenting requirements for native Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) driven products designed to improve customer service, operational efficiency, and member engagement within the US healthcare payer landscape.
  • Proactive & Strategic Thinking: Proactively identifies opportunities where AI/ML can solve complex business problems, streamline processes, and create new value within the payer ecosystem. Contributes to strategic discussions on AI product roadmaps.
  • Healthcare Payer & Digital Expertise: Combines a solid understanding of US healthcare payer operations and regulatory considerations with an appreciation for digital product development lifecycles and user experience within AI-driven solutions.
  • Collaboration & Communication: Facilitates clear and effective communication between business stakeholders, AI product managers, data scientists, and engineering teams, ensuring a shared understanding of AI solution objectives and technical requirements.
Responsibilities
  • AI-Centric Requirements Elicitation: Collaborate with business stakeholders, product owners, and AI/ML teams to identify pain points and opportunities suitable for AI/ML intervention. Elicit, analyze, and document detailed business, functional, and non-functional requirements specifically tailored for AI-driven features and products (e.g., natural language understanding for customer inquiries, predictive analytics for member churn, intelligent automation).
  • AI Solution Scoping & Analysis: Translate high-level business objectives into clear and well-structured requirements documentation, including user stories with acceptance criteria, use cases, and process flows. Critically assess the feasibility and potential impact of AI solutions, considering data availability, model interpretability, and ethical implications.
  • Process Optimization with AI Lens: Analyze and document current state processes within customer service or other payer operations, proactively identifying areas for improvement and automation through AI/ML. Apply Lean principles in conjunction with an AI-first mindset to streamline workflows and enhance efficiency.
  • Data & Model Requirements: Work closely with Data Scientists and Data Engineers to define data input requirements for AI models, including data sources, formats, quality standards, and ethical data usage. Document requirements related to model performance, bias detection, and explainability (XAI) for AI solutions.
  • AI Solution Validation: Participate in testing and validating new AI systems and processes, including User Acceptance Testing (UAT). Ensure that AI-driven solutions meet specified business requirements, ethical guidelines, and quality standards, paying close attention to model output validation and user experience.
  • Stakeholder Alignment & Communication: Lead meetings, workshops, and presentations to gather requirements, present findings, and obtain sign-off on AI product requirements. Prioritize requirements effectively and communicate findings and recommendations, particularly on the value proposition and limitations of AI.
  • Risk Identification & Mitigation (AI Specific): Identify and mitigate project risks and issues, including those unique to AI development such as data bias, model drift, ethical considerations, and regulatory compliance, escalating appropriately and providing recommendations and solutions.
  • Agile & Digital Collaboration: Work effectively within an Agile development framework, collaborating closely with product owners, developers, and testers to ensure a clear understanding and smooth implementation of AI-focused requirements.
Required Skills & Experience
  • Domain Expertise of minimum 2-3 years directly within the US healthcare payer industry.
