Job summary

Garden Genie® is seeking an hands-on AI Development & Adoption Lead to build Genie AI, our proprietary gardening platform, and drive AI adoption across operations.

You will independently conceptualize, develop, deploy, and scale AI solutions, leading model development, AI agents, and automation initiatives across sales, marketing, inventory, and customer support.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with Python, APIs, and backend development.
• Experience with OpenAI, Gemini, Claude, or open-source LLMs.
• Knowledge of AI agents, RAG, vector databases, prompt engineering, and tool calling.
• Familiarity with computer vision, multimodal AI, and image recognition.
• Experience with automation platforms such as n8n, Make, or Zapier.
• Understanding of databases, cloud deployment, and system integrations.
• Proven ability to build and deploy working AI applications.

Responsibilities

• Lead Genie AI product development including plant identification, disease diagnosis, pest detection, and personalized gardening recommendations.
• Design, deploy, and scale AI agents, chatbots, and automation workflows across departments.
• Identify opportunities for AI adoption and train teams to use AI tools and automated workflows.

About the Role

We are looking for a hands‑onAI Development & Adoption Leadto build AI-powered products, agents, and automation solutions across our group of companies. The role will focus on two key initiatives: developingGenie AI, our proprietary AI-powered gardening platform, and driving AI adoption and automation across business operations.

We are looking for someone who can independently conceptualize, develop, deploy, and scale AI solutions.

Key Responsibilities

1. Genie AI — Product & Model Development

• Lead the development of Genie AI, including plant identification, disease diagnosis, pest detection, and personalized gardening recommendations.
• Build AI systems capable of analyzing plant images and providing actionable care guidance.
• Develop a proprietary gardening knowledge base using AI models, RAG, fine-tuning, and relevant datasets.
• Build intelligent plant‑care features, reminders, and personalized recommendations.
• Integrate Genie AI with e‑commerce, product discovery, and other digital platforms.

2. AI Agents & Business Automation

• Design, develop, and deploy AI agents, chatbots, and intelligent automation workflows.
• Automate business processes across sales, marketing, inventory, finance, operations, and customer support.
• Integrate AI solutions with existing platforms, APIs, databases, and business software.
• Develop automated reporting systems, dashboards, and intelligent business alerts.

3. AI Adoption & Implementation

• Identify opportunities for AI adoption across departments.
• Train teams to effectively use AI tools and automated workflows.
• Evaluate emerging AI technologies and implement practical business solutions.
• Measure improvements in productivity, efficiency, and operational costs.

4. Technology Ownership

• Independently manage AI projects from concept to deployment.
• Ensure reliability, scalability, data security, and continuous improvement of AI systems.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external technology partners when required.

Required Technical Skills

• Strong hands‑on experience withPython, APIs, and backend development.
• Experience building applications usingOpenAI, Gemini, Claude, or open-source LLMs.
• Knowledge ofAI agents, RAG, vector databases, prompt engineering, and tool calling.

• Establish the initial proprietary AI knowledge base.
• Deploy 5–10 meaningful business automations.
• Build and implement internal AI agents across selected departments.
• Drive measurable improvements in productivity and AI adoption.
• We are looking for someone who builds and ships AI solutions, not someone who only understands AI tools conceptually.
