Job summary

Kusum seeks an experienced AGM/DGM - Projects to lead end-to-end capital projects from concept to handover at its New Delhi operations.

The role oversees greenfield and brownfield manufacturing expansions, ensures GMP compliance, drives CAPEX control, and aligns with Manufacturing, Quality, EHS, and Regulatory teams across geographies. You will mentor site teams, standardize PM tools, manage budgets, risks, and ensure on-time delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering.
• 18–20 years of experience in industrial or pharmaceutical (Formulation) project.
• Proven track record delivering greenfield manufacturing facilities and large-scale expansions.
• Strong GMP exposure and regulatory compliance experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead conceptualization, feasibility studies, and engineering strategies for greenfield and brownfield projects.
• Own CAPEX budgeting, cost estimation, and board approvals; manage tendering and negotiations.
• Oversee multiple concurrent project executions across geographies via site PMs.
• Manage EPC contractors, equipment suppliers, and regulatory authorities; coordinate with stakeholders.

Job description

Role: AGM/DGM - Projects

Base location: New Delhi

Reporting To: Project- Head

Role Scope: Pharma Formulation Projects(Greenfield & Brownfield)

Role Purpose

Responsible for all capital projects across Kusums manufacturing and supply network. This includes greenfield manufacturing facilities, plant expansions, capacity upgrades, utilities, and major engineering initiatives.

The role is responsible for end-to-end project lifecycle management – from project conception and charter approval through engineering design, contractor selection, execution, commissioning, and handover to operations.

The incumbent will lead projects centrally, while supervising site-based teams who are accountable for on-ground execution. This role ensures standardization, cost discipline, timeline adherence.

Key Responsibilities

1. Project Planning & Engineering Oversight

• Lead conceptualization, feasibility assessments, and engineering strategies for greenfield and brownfield projects.
• Oversee preparation and approval of concept layouts, master plans, and detailed engineering drawings (civil, MEP, utilities, and process).
• Ensure alignment of designs with manufacturing, quality, EHS, and regulatory requirements.

2. Budgeting, Cost Control & Commercial Management

• Own CAPEX budgeting, cost estimation, and board-level project approvals.
• Drive contractor and vendor selection, tendering, technical evaluations, and commercial negotiations.
• Ensure tight cost control, value engineering, and adherence to approved budgets across projects.

3. Project Execution & Delivery

• Oversee execution of multiple concurrent projects across geographies through site-based Project Managers.

4. Vendor, Contractor & Stakeholder Management

• Manage relationships with EPC contractors, consultants, equipment suppliers, and statutory authorities.
• Coordinate with cross-functional stakeholders including Manufacturing, Quality, EHS, Supply Chain, and Finance.
• Ensure smooth coordination between central teams and site-level execution teams.

5. Compliance, Quality & Risk Management

• Ensure all projects meet GMP, regulatory, safety, and corporate quality standards.
• Identify project risks proactively and implement mitigation plans.
• Ensure proper documentation, audit readiness, and formal project handover to operations.

6. Team Leadership & Capability Building

• Lead and develop the Projects organization, including mentoring site-based teams.
• Drive standardization of project management tools, templates, reporting, and best practices.

Qualifications, Experience & Skills

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering.

Experience
