Job summary

AP Management Consultants is seeking a Boiler Operator with hands-on experience in AFBC boilers and back pressure turbines in a Tamil Nadu facility. The role requires maintaining water parameters, managing chemical dosing, and overseeing fuel and ash handling systems.

The candidate should have a First class Boiler Competency Certificate (TN Government) and at least 4 years of AFBC boiler experience to ensure safe, continuous plant operation.

Qualifications

• Adequate knowledge of AFBC boiler and back pressure turbine.
• Experience with water treatment and chemical handling.
• Experience with coal/fuel handling and ash handling systems.
• Knowledge of boiler safety interlocks and plant safety.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and control boiler and turbine operating parameters per design values.
• Maintain steam and power balance and process pressures per requirements.
• Start-up and shutdown AFBC boiler and back pressure turbine.
• Maintain water parameters and manage chemical dosing and blow down.
• Operate coal handling and ash handling systems and related interlocks.
• Troubleshoot boiler and turbine equipment; ensure safe operation.

Boiler Operator Roles and Responsibility

A. Knowledge

Adequate Knowledge of AFBC boiler and Back Pressure Turbine. Water treatment and chemical handling and processing. Fuel and Fuel handling system. Boiler auxiliaries and mountings. Ash handling system. Trouble shooting of boiler and turbine equipments. Safety and interlocks of boiler and turbine. Rotating equipment maintenance.

B. Role & Responsibility

• Parameter Monitoring and control

• a. Ensure continuous running of plant by monitoring all the Operating parameters of Boiler and turbine as per the design value.
• b. Manage Steam and Power balance.
• c. Turbine Inlet steam pressure and Process steam pressure to be maintained as per stakeholder requirements.
• d. Trouble shooting of boiler and turbine.
• e. Knowledge about boiler stack parameter and control measures.

• Start-up and shut down procedure

• f. AFBC boiler and back pressure turbine start-up and shutdown procedure
• g. Boiler Hydro test and annual maintenance activity.

• Maintaining Water Parameter and Control Measures

• h. Ensure boiler running with design parameter (Steam, Blow down water, Return condensate and Feed water etc.)
• i. Deviation of water parameter to be control by chemical dosing and blow down activity.
• j. Knowledge about water treatment plant

• Coal and Ash Handling Plant

• k. Operation of coal plant and interlocks of the coal plant.
• l. Maintenance of coal handling equipment.
• m. Knowledge of parameters of coal analysis.
• n. Operation and maintenance of ash handling system.
• o. Ash analysis and LOI control measures.

C. Academic qualification

First class Boiler Competency Certificate (TN Government)

D. Experience

Min 4 Years of Experience in AFBC boiler.
