Job summary

Honeywell Technologies is seeking an Advanced Test Engineer with 7-9 years of project engineering and testing experience in the fire alarm domain. You will design and implement test strategies, develop automated scripts in Python using PyTest/Robot Framework, and support continuous integration efforts.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure testability of requirements, validate functional and non-functional aspects, and contribute to product quality across deployments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Master of Engineering in Computer Science, Electronics, Electrical, Instrumentation or Mechanical.
• 7-9 years of project engineering/testing experience in relevant industry space.
• At least 5 years of experience leading the technical and delivery.
• Strong technical competency on Fire Alarm systems domain.
• Hands-on experience with installation, commissioning & maintenance of fire alarm systems (Honeywell brand preferred).
• Experience with Fire Detector principles and applications.
• Experience in using Fire Panel commissioning tools.
• Experience testing and troubleshooting Fire panels at sites.
• Knowledge of Python and test automation scripting.
• Familiarity with PyTest or Robot Framework.
• Knowledge of CI/CD tools.
• Excellent verbal and written communication in English.

Responsibilities

• Review requirements to ensure testability and deployment scenarios.
• Derive and develop acceptance criteria from customer requirements.
• Plan testing activities within the Scrum team and raise defects.
• Develop test plans, test strategies and test cases for functional and non-functional requirements.
• Create and maintain automated test scripts using Python and related tools.

• Provide debug support to development teams to identify root causes.
• Maintain defect reports and weekly progress updates.
• Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in mobile/cloud/big data testing.
• Collaborate with offering team to understand roadmaps and release plans.

Job description

Advanced Test Engineer

Technical & Functional

1. Gets involved in Requirement reviews to ensure completeness of Deployment scenarios, Use cases & Testability aspects of Functional & Non-Functional requirements
2. Closely works with Offering Team, understand the customer requirements and derive, Develop Acceptance Criteria to validate the product against acceptance criteria.
3. Co-Work within scrum team plan the Testing activities, Estimate the efforts, Raise Product defects and conduct effective triage.
4. Develops Test Case, Test Plan & Test strategy to validate the Functional, Non-Functional requirements for product
5. Develop Regression Test Strategy based on Impact Analysis of fixed defects
6. Identifies Test Automation & Simulation requirements early in the life cycle & supports in execution of the same
7. Provides debug support to Development Team to identify root causes of defects
8. Develops and maintains Defect Report on daily basis and weekly report out
9. Create and maintain automated test scripts using Python and other relevant tools
10. Introduce automation in the testing process to enhance efficiency, using tools such as PyTest, or Robot Framework.
11. Leverage AI adoption to understand system overview and orchestrate agentic test

Business Acumen

1. Participates in Observation Voice of Customer (OVoC) and in Concept reviews in early phases of Product Development Life Cycle as needed
2. Stays up to date with happenings in the Industry & Competition space of the relevant business verticals and drives best practices in Mobile/Cloud/Big data testing.
3. Has clear understanding of product roadmaps and release plans.

3. At least 5 years of experience in in leading the technical and delivery
4. Strong technical competency on Fire Alarm systems domain
5. Should have in-depth hands‑on experience in installing, commissioning & maintenance of fire alarm system – Preferred experience in Honeywell brand Fire Panels
6. Knowledge of Various Fire Detector working principle, and its applications is a must
7. Experience of usage of Fire Panel commissioning tools is mandatory
8. Experience of testing and troubleshooting of Fire panel at site for proper functioning & Inspect is must
9. Hands on work experience on VESDA, Beam Detector, Flame Detectors, Line Detectors are added advantage
10. Capable of understanding product software requirements and design test cases.
11. Proficiency in programming languages such as Python is added advantage.
12. Experience in writing scripts for test automation.
13. Familiarity with test automation frameworks such PyTest
14. Knowledge of Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) tools .
15. Excellent verbal & written communication.
16. Fluent in business language - English speaking, writing, Listening
17. Should be able to understand & communicate complex technical terms into layman understanding acronyms
18. Experience in MS Office tools like, Outlook, Excel, PPT & Word.
19. Problem solving and decision-making skills are must to have for this role
20. Experience handling Multi-Disciplinary Project is added value
