Job summary

Honeywell Technologies in Bengaluru seeks an Advanced Test Engineer to drive comprehensive testing of Fire Alarm systems and related mobile/cloud/big data testing initiatives. You will craft test strategies, automation plans, and acceptance criteria in collaboration with the Offering Team.

The role requires 7-9 years in project engineering/testing, strong Python scripting, experience with PyTest/Robot Framework, and hands-on validation of fire panel equipment.

Qualifications

• 7–9 years of experience in project engineering/testing in relevant industry space.
• At least 5 years of experience leading technical delivery.
• Strong domain knowledge of Fire Alarm systems and related equipment.

Responsibilities

• Review requirements for completeness of deployment scenarios, use cases, and testability.
• Develop test cases, test plans, and test strategies to validate functional and non‑functional requirements.
• Lead test activities within the scrum team, estimate efforts, raise defects, and triage.
• Create and maintain automated test scripts using Python and tools such as PyTest or Robot Framework.
• Introduce automation to improve testing efficiency and support AI-driven testing approaches.
• Provide debug support to identify root causes and maintain defect reports daily and weekly.

Job description

Advanced Test Engineer

Technical & Functional

1. Gets involved in Requirement reviews to ensure completeness of Deployment scenarios, Use cases & Testability aspects of Functional & Non-Functional requirements

2. Closely works with Offering Team, understand the customer requirements and derive, Develop Acceptance Criteria to validate the product against acceptance criteria.

3. Co-Work within scrum team plan the Testing activities, Estimate the efforts, Raise Product defects and conduct effective triage.

4. Develops Test Case, Test Plan & Test strategy to validate the Functional, Non-Functional requirements for product

5. Develop Regression Test Strategy based on Impact Analysis of fixed defects

6. Identifies Test Automation & Simulation requirements early in the life cycle & supports in execution of the same

7. Provides debug support to Development Team to identify root causes of defects

8. Develops and maintains Defect Report on daily basis and weekly report out

9. Create and maintain automated test scripts using Python and other relevant tools

10. Introduce automation in the testing process to enhance efficiency, using tools such as PyTest, or Robot Framework.

11. Leverage AI adoption to understand system overview and orchestrate agentic test

Business Acumen

1. Participates in Observation Voice of Customer (OVoC) and in Concept reviews in early phases of Product Development Life Cycle as needed

2. Stays up to date with happenings in the Industry & Competition space of the relevant business verticals and drives best practices in Mobile/Cloud/Big data testing.

3. Has clear understanding of product roadmaps and release plans.

4. Bachelor or Master of Engineering in Computer Science, Electronics, Electrical, Instrumentation or Mechanical

5. Minimum of 7-9 years of experience in project engineering/testing in relevant industry space

6. At least 5 years of experience in in leading the technical and delivery

7. Strong technical competency on Fire Alarm systems domain

8. Should have in-depth hands-on experience in installing, commissioning & maintenance of fire alarm system – Preferred experience in Honeywell brand Fire Panels

9. Knowledge of Various Fire Detector working principle, and its applications is a must

10. Experience of usage of Fire Panel commissioning tools is mandatory

11. Experience of testing and troubleshooting of Fire panel at site for proper functioning & Inspect is must

12. Hands on work experience on VESDA, Beam Detector, Flame Detectors, Line Detectors are added advantage

13. Capable of understanding product software requirements and design test cases.

14. Proficiency in programming languages such as Python is added advantage.

15. Experience in writing scripts for test automation.

16. Familiarity with test automation frameworks such PyTest

17. Knowledge of Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) tools .

18. Excellent verbal & written communication.

19. Fluent in business language - English speaking, writing, Listening

20. Should be able to understand & communicate complex technical terms into layman understanding acronyms

21. Experience in MS Office tools like, Outlook, Excel, PPT & Word.

22. Problem solving and decision-making skills are must to have for this role

23. Experience handling Multi-Disciplinary Project is added value
