Job summary

Progress Rail Innovations seeks a procurement analyst to manage requisitions and support purchasing, sourcing, and contract activities. The role focuses on data maintenance for POs, invoices, and supplier data, while coordinating with global teams to optimize costs and delivery schedules.

Ideal candidates have a BE/B.Tech or Diploma with ERP exposure (SAP, LN, D365) and experience in manufacturing processes. You will work on-site in Bangalore and align with US time zones when needed.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Category Buyers and Managers on analytical tasks supporting purchasing initiatives.
• Maintain purchasing data: POs, quotations, invoices, source catalogs, master data, supplier data.
• Support pricing information and supplier selection for customer proposals.
• Analyze spend data to identify cost-saving opportunities and supplier consolidation.
• Monitor price variations and assist Buyers with PO-Invoice reconciliations.

Job Mode: On-site ( No Hybrid/Remote)

JOB PURPOSE: This role is responsible for processes requisitions and provides support for purchasing, supply chain, sourcing, cost, price analyses and contract/purchase order generation.

JOB DUTIES:

• Work in conjunction with Category Buyers and Managers to perform analytical and administrative tasks in support of purchasing strategic initiatives
• Deliver analysis and maintenance of purchasing and quality data including but not limited to; purchase orders, quotations, invoices, source catalogs, master data, material rejection disposal reports, tooling records, supplier data and measurements
• Support customer and customer proposal efforts with pricing information and supplier selection. All other duties as assigned.
• Data analysis of previous years spend data for a specific commodity to come up with recommendations/suggestions on the opportunities to be pursued for cost or supplier consolidation
• Track the price variations of parts from suppliers and provide support to Buyers
• Review price mismatches with PO vs Invoices and close the GRN process
• Support Buyers on RFQs, supplier assessment and issue POs
• Monitor and track the forex details on monthly basis, to get the cost advantages.
• Monitor and track the commodity prices.
• Support plants on production orders, coordinate with India suppliers and ensure delivery as per plant requirement.
• Support the customer on timely shipments and make sure transportation is aligned.
• Co-ordinate with local and international logistics team to support material movement.

BACKGROUND/EXPERIENCE:

• B.Tech or BE in Mechanical Engineer/Electrical/Electronics with minimum 3 years of experience or Diploma with 5 years of experience
• Experience with ERP systems like SAP, LN 10.7, LN 10.4 and D365
• Experience in manufacturing processes, production flow and material movement
• Flexible towards overlap working hours with US time zones
• Experience in Global sourcing and global supply chain, strong communication and presentation skills will be required to communicate with global teams on daily basis
