- Build and maintain patch schedules for application software, middleware, tooling components, operating systems and supporting infrastructure in line with approved maintenance windows.
- Review vendor advisories, release notes, prerequisites, dependencies, compatibility considerations and known issues; document implementation and back-out requirements.
- Identify target assets and versions using approved inventory and configuration sources; highlight coverage gaps, unsupported versions and exceptions to the team lead.
- Coordinate readiness with application owners, engineering, infrastructure, cyber/security, service management and relevant support teams.
- Install patches, hotfixes, service packs, minor upgrades, agents, plug-ins and approved component updates using standard deployment methods and automation where available.
- Execute changes across development, test, UAT and production environments in the approved sequence, following runbooks and segregation-of-duties requirements.
- Perform pre-change backups, health checks and dependency checks; monitor deployment progress and apply the documented back-out plan when success criteria are not met.
- Participate in planned evening or weekend change windows and the team on-call rota where required.
- Complete post-patch technical validation, including service status, process checks, connectivity, logs, monitoring signals, scheduled jobs, interfaces and application smoke tests.
- Engage business or application testers for functional confirmation where required and record deployment outcomes, incidents, defects and residual risks.
- Monitor platform health after implementation and respond to patch-related events or incidents through the defined support process.
- Raise and maintain change records with scope, risk, impact, implementation plan, validation plan, back-out plan and supporting approvals.
- Maintain patch evidence, version records, deployment logs, approvals, test results and exception records to support governance, control testing and audit requests.
Skill Requirements
Minimum of 5 years experience as an Engineer specializing in SRE, Patch Management,Production Support, ITIL, Cloud Technology,monitoring and automation. Financial services sector experience beneficial.
- Demonstrable experience in upgrading, installing, configuring and supporting some or all of the technologies employed within Deutsche Bank’s Tooling & automation application stack including:

- Power Platform and Power Automate
- Powershell Scripting

- GitHub
- Ansible
- Demonstrable experience in playing leading role in a global level 3 SRE,Patch Management,Production Support, Automation and working within an ITIL framework.
- Hands-on experience supporting and patching enterprise applications, tools or infrastructure in a medium-to-large production environment.
- Working knowledge of Windows and/or Linux administration, software installation, service management, file systems, permissions, certificates and basic network connectivity.
- Understanding of application stacks, middleware, databases, agents, APIs, interfaces and common dependencies relevant to patching and upgrades.
- Experience of supporting complex application and infrastructure domains
- Experience with scripting languages such as: Powershell, Python, MSPL Scripting, Java, etc
- Aware of vulnerability management concepts, patch compliance reporting, end-of-life remediation and security exception handling.
- Basic understanding of SRE practices, observability, reliability, disaster recovery and release engineering.
- Knowledge of any Monitoring tool like ITRS Geneos, New Relic, Nexthink.
- MS SQL Administration.
- Development background.
- Preferably hold SRE and ITIL Certification
