Job description

The Desktop Support Engineers shall provide assistance to IT users. Engineers will be deployed full-time as per project timings. Responsibilities include providing IT assistance such as application support, hardware and software installation, and troubleshooting, while adhering to resolution times. They will troubleshoot issues with laptop hardware, applications, printers, and OS configurations, including devices attached to laptops (PDA). Skills required include providing remote support via phone or tools, managing user accounts and access controls to client data, and handling installation and updates of antivirus software on desktops. They are responsible for the implementation, support, administration, and management of Windows NT/2000/XP workstations and/or servers, configuring Lotus Notes client setup, and configuring Microsoft Outlook/Outlook Express. Additional duties include performing system software and hardware maintenance, evaluating and testing upgrades, and supporting software and applications. They must respond to and close calls within the set norms, set up desktops/phones for projects, reduce repetitive calls, and manage backup and restoration processes.
