Job summary

Tata AIG General Insurance Company in Mumbai invites an Actuarial professional for Motor Pricing role based in Lower Parel. You will build pricing models, perform analyses and lead pricing initiatives with cross-functional teams.

The role requires progress toward actuarial qualification, strong technical skills in GLMs, R, SQL and Excel, and experience in motor pricing or general insurance analytics. This is a hands-on analytics position with mentoring responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's/Master's degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Science, Engineering, Economics or another quantitative discipline.
• Good progress towards actuarial qualification (IAI, IFoA, or equivalent). 7-10 actuarial examinations cleared preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain and enhance Motor pricing models and pricing frameworks.
• Conduct pricing studies, experience analyses, and portfolio performance reviews to support pricing decisions.
• Support product and rate filings by preparing technical documentation and actuarial analyses.
• Analyse policy and claims data to identify trends, assess portfolio performance, and recommend pricing actions.
• Drive automation and continuous improvement of pricing processes and reporting.
• Partner with Underwriting, Claims, Product, Finance, Reinsurance, and Business teams on pricing initiatives.
• Lead pricing projects and mentor junior actuarial analysts.

Role & Responsibilities

Education and Actuarial Qualification

Experience

• Experience in General Insurance, preferably in Motor Pricing or Actuarial Analytics.
• Experience in actuarial pricing, product/rate filings, portfolio management, and pricing governance.

Skills

• Strong understanding of Motor insurance pricing, actuarial pricing methodologies, and Generalized Linear Models (GLMs). Good understanding of insurance financial metrics, portfolio profitability, reserving concepts, and regulatory requirements.
• Hands-on experience with WTW Emblem, Radar. Proficiency in R, SQL, and Microsoft Excel.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and data interpretation skills.
