Job summary

Persistent Systems is seeking an experienced Active Directory Architect to design, implement, and modernize enterprise identity infrastructure. You will lead AD and Entra ID architecture, security hardening, migration, and governance initiatives with technical leadership across the organization.

Role focuses on defining identity security controls, managing AD DS and Azure AD transformations, building disaster recovery and governance standards, and mentoring engineering teams while driving

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or related field.
• 12+ years IT infrastructure experience with 7+ years in AD architecture and enterprise identity.
• Strong expertise in AD DS, Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD), hybrid identity and IAM.
• Hands-on with Group Policy, DNS, LDAP, Kerberos, ADFS, federation and authentication concepts.
• Proven leadership in large-scale AD/Azure AD transformation, migration and modernization.
• Security hardening, privileged access management, governance and compliance knowledge.
• Advanced PowerShell automation for identity infrastructure operations.
• Ability to define architecture standards, runbooks, DR and business continuity.

What You'll Do:

• Define and design Active Directory and hybrid identity architecture.
• Lead AD consolidation, migration, and modernization programs.
• Implement identity security controls, governance, and compliance requirements.
• Provide technical leadership, architecture reviews, and mentoring to engineering teams.
• Develop disaster recovery, business continuity, and operational standards.
• Drive automation and operational excellence through scripting and process optimization.
• Architect, design, and govern enterprise Active Directory Domain Services (AD DS) and hybrid identity platforms.
• Lead large-scale Active Directory migration, consolidation, modernization, and transformation initiatives.
• Design and implement Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD), hybrid identity, federation, and synchronization related architecture.
• Define identity security controls, privileged access management practices, and compliance-driven governance standards.
• Provide technical leadership for architecture reviews, design decisions, risk assessments, and implementation planning.
• Design Group Policy, DNS, LDAP, Kerberos, ADFS, and authentication-related solutions for enterprise environments.
• Create disaster recovery, business continuity, backup, restore, and operational standards for identity infrastructure.
• Drive automation using PowerShell scripting and support operational excellence through process optimization.
• Collaborate with security, infrastructure, cloud, and application teams to deliver secure and scalable identity solutions.
• Mentor engineering teams and provide guidance on Active Directory and Entra ID best practices.

Expertise You'll Bring:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
• 12+ years of IT infrastructure experience, including 7+ years in Active Directory architecture and enterprise identity solutions.
• Strong expertise in Active Directory (AD DS), Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD), hybrid identity, and IAM solutions.
• Hands-on experience with Group Policy, DNS, LDAP, Kerberos, ADFS, federation, authentication, and authorization concepts.
• Proven experience leading large-scale AD/Azure AD transformation, migration, consolidation, and modernization projects.
• Strong knowledge of identity security hardening, privileged access management, governance, and compliance requirements.
• Advanced PowerShell automation and scripting experience for identity infrastructure operations.
• Ability to define architecture standards, operational runbooks, disaster recovery, and business continuity processes.
• Strong stakeholder management, documentation, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Preferred certifications: Microsoft Certified: Identity and Access Administrator Associate, Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate, or Azure Solutions Architect Expert.
