Qualifications

• 3-8 years in environmental acoustics, noise and vibration consultancy
• Experience supporting acoustic studies and environmental impact assessments
• Knowledge of acoustic modelling methodologies and industry standards
• Experience using recognised acoustic modelling software and advanced spreadsheet analysis
• Strong technical report writing and communication skills
• Ability to work in international teams
• Proactive approach with focus on quality delivery

What You'll Do

As an Environmental Acoustics Consultant, you will support the delivery of acoustic and environmental assessments across a diverse portfolio of infrastructure and development projects.

Key responsibilities include:

• Processing and analysing environmental noise and vibration monitoring data.
• Undertaking environmental acoustics assessments and technical evaluations.
• Developing acoustic models, predictions and optimisation studies using industry-standard software.
• Preparing high-quality technical reports and project deliverables.
• Supporting project teams in delivering work to programme, quality and budget requirements.
• Participating in project meetings and collaborating with UK-based and international multidisciplinary teams.

About the Team

AECOM has one of the world's largest specialist Acoustics, Noise and Vibration practices, comprising approximately 50 specialists in the UK and more than 200 professionals globally.

Our team delivers environmental acoustic consultancy services across major infrastructure and development sectors, including:

• Highways, rail and aviation

• Transport and construction noise assessments, acoustic modelling and auralisation.

Qualifications

What We're Looking For

We're seeking professionals who combine strong technical capability with curiosity, collaboration and a desire to grow.

Essential

• 3-8 years of experience in environmental acoustics, noise and vibration consultancy.
• Experience supporting acoustic studies and environmental impact assessments.
• Knowledge of acoustic modelling methodologies and relevant industry standards.
• Experience using recognised acoustic modelling software and advanced spreadsheet-based analysis.
• Strong technical report writing and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary and international teams.
• A proactive, self-motivated approach with a commitment to quality delivery.

Preferred

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Acoustics, Engineering, Physics, Environmental Science or a related discipline.
• Membership, or progress towards membership, of professional organisations such as the Institute of Acoustics (IOA), ANC or equivalent.
• Experience supporting UK or other international projects.
