Job description

We are looking for an experienced and result-oriented Accounts Manager with strong expertise in GST, TDS, import and export documentation, and financial operations.

The selected candidate will lead the accounts and finance team, ensure statutory compliance, streamline accounting processes, and maintain financial accuracy across business operations. The role also requires hands-on experience in e-commerce accounting, marketplace reconciliations, financial reporting, and the use of technology and AI tools to improve operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

1. Team Leadership & Financial Operations

• Lead, mentor, and manage the accounts and finance team to ensure smooth, accurate, and efficient financial operations.
• Oversee day-to-day accounting activities and ensure timely completion of financial tasks.
• Establish accountability, improve team productivity, and maintain high standards of financial accuracy.

2. Taxation & Statutory Compliance

• Manage GST and TDS compliance, including applicable calculations, reconciliations, documentation, and timely filings.
• Handle import and export documentation and ensure compliance with applicable statutory requirements.
• Maintain accurate tax records and coordinate with consultants and authorities whenever required.
• Ensure compliance with relevant financial and taxation regulations.

3. Accounts Receivable & Payable

• Supervise accounts receivable, vendor payments, payment reconciliations, and timely settlements.
• Review and reconcile accounts receivable ledgers and resolve discrepancies.
• Prepare and manage No Dues Certificates (NDCs) and ledger confirmations.
• Create, maintain, and periodically validate vendor and accounts payable master data.

4. E-commerce Accounting & Reconciliation

• Manage and reconcile e-commerce transactions across relevant marketplaces and sales channels.
• Reconcile marketplace settlement reports, commissions, platform fees, returns, refunds, and payment gateway collections.
• Ensure accurate recording of sales, marketplace expenses, settlement differences, and related financial transactions.
• Investigate and resolve discrepancies between sales records, marketplace settlements, and bank receipts.

5. Audit & Financial Reporting

• Coordinate and supervise tax audits, ensuring accurate documentation and timely closure of audit requirements.
• Maintain accurate accounting records, general ledgers, and financial reconciliations.
• Prepare periodic financial reports and ensure the reliability of financial information.
• Coordinate with internal teams, vendors, consultants, and auditors to maintain financial transparency.

6. Process Improvement, Technology & AI Automation

• Leverage AI tools, digital solutions, and automation to streamline accounting operations and reduce manual effort.
• Identify opportunities to automate repetitive processes, including reconciliations, reporting, data management, and compliance tracking.
• Develop, implement, and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to standardize workflows and strengthen internal controls.
• Drive technology adoption within the finance team and continuously improve operational efficiency.

Desired Candidate Profile

• Graduate or postgraduate in Commerce, Accounting, or Finance. CA Inter qualification will be preferred.
• 5-12 years of experience in accounting, taxation, financial operations, and team management.
• Strong hands-on knowledge of GST, TDS, and import/export documentation.
• Experience in e-commerce accounting, marketplace settlements, commissions, returns, refunds, and payment gateway reconciliations.
• Proven experience leading, mentoring, and developing an accounts or finance team.
• Proficiency in Tally or other ERP systems and advanced MS Excel.
• Strong knowledge of ledger management, financial reconciliations, and financial reporting.
• Tech-savvy, with practical knowledge of AI tools and automation solutions for finance operations.
• Ability to develop SOPs, optimize workflows, and drive continuous process improvements.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and coordination skills.
• High attention to detail, ownership, and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
