Job summary

Dow in Navi Mumbai is seeking an Accounting Specialist to ensure integrity of financial records and drive cost analysis and budgeting processes. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to support strategic decisions and maintain financial controls.

The role requires a bachelor's in accounting/finance with 5+ years of experience, strong MS Excel and SAP skills, and excellent English communication. Hybrid work arrangement with 4 days in office is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.

• Proficient in MS Excel and SAP/Financial Systems.

Responsibilities

• Ensure accurate, complete, and compliant recording and reporting of financial results.
• Analyze product costing and variances and report to leadership.
• Review inventory and fixed assets for financial integrity.
• Provide financial analysis for decisions, budgeting and forecasting.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support business goals.
• Lead annual budgeting, forecasting and quarterly estimates.

About you and the role

As an Accounting Specialist based in Navi Mumbai, you are responsible for ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and integrity of financial records and accounting activities. You support the business through budgeting, product costing, financial reporting, analysis, and communication of financial results. Working closely with functional and business leaders, you provide financial insights and analysis to support effective decision-making and operational performance.

Responsibilities

• Ensure accurate, complete, and compliant recording, reporting, and communication of financial and business results.
• Understand product costing activities, analyze cost variances, and communicate findings to business and plant leadership.
• Conduct inventory and fixed asset reviews to support financial integrity and operational performance.
• Provide financial analysis for business decisions, project evaluations, productivity improvements, benchmarking, and strategic options.
• Partner closely with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to support business objectives and maintain effective working relationships.
• Facilitate annual budgeting, forecasting, and quarterly estimate processes in accordance with corporate guidelines and timelines.
• Support cost reporting, financial planning, and performance analysis to help drive informed decision-making.
• Advise and educate business partners on accounting policies, internal controls, and the financial implications of operational decisions while helping resolve issues proactively.

Qualifications

• A minimum of a bachelor's degree in accounting or finance, master's degree in accounting will be added advantage
• A minimum of 5 years relevant accounting/finance experience
• Understanding of U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
• Strong computer logic skills including MS Excel (complex formulas & macros) and SAP & Financial Systems Proficiency
• Proficient in English
