Job summary

Unbox is a boutique consulting firm delivering learning solutions powered by design thinking and gamification. We seek an Associate - Accounting to maintain robust financial operations, including onboarding vendors, processing invoices, payroll reconciliations, and MIS reporting, while ensuring compliance with GST and other taxes.

You will work with a dynamic, growth-focused team in Bengaluru, handling vendor coordination, payments, and financial summaries for leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or related field.
• 1–2 years of relevant experience preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple financial workflows.

Responsibilities

• Onboard Unbox as a vendor on customer portals with documentation.
• Validate Purchase Orders and obtain timely approvals.
• Manage end-to-end invoicing and follow up on collections.
• Track and categorize company expenses accurately for MIS.
• Maintain revenue, cost and other trackers for reporting.
• Reconcile the salary register with accuracy and confidentiality.
• Process vendor payments per timelines and policies.
• Coordinate with banking partners for transactions and queries.
• Prepare monthly financial documents for the auditor.
• Coordinate with auditors for monthly/quarterly/annual filings and payments.
• Ensure GST, TDS, PT and other taxes are paid on time.

The Role

Associate - Accounting

Where Numbers Meet Impact - Keeping the Engine Running, Empowering Financial Clarity

By integrating the expertise of a Accounting Associate with our unique consulting approach, you will be pivotal in maintaining robust financial operations across the organization from vendor coordination and compliance to reporting and payments.

Responsibilities

• Onboard Unbox as a vendor on customer portals, ensuring all documentation and approvals are in place
• Validate Purchase Orders, coordinate with internal stakeholders for timely sign-offs and compliance
• Manage end-to-end invoicing and follow up on collections to maintain healthy cash flow
• Track and categorize company expenses accurately and on a timely basis
• Update and maintain revenue, cost, and other trackers for MIS reporting
• Maintain and reconcile the salary register, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality
• Execute vendor payments in line with agreed timelines and company policies
• Coordinate with banking partners for transactions, account queries, and documentation
• Compile and submit monthly financial documents to the auditor
• Coordinate with the auditor for monthly, quarterly, and annual compliance filings and payments
• Ensure all tax payments (GST, TDS, PT, etc.) are made accurately and on time
• Collaborate with the CD (Client Delivery) team to align financial outlook with actuals
• Prepare and present monthly financial summaries and reports to the CEO

Requirements

• Skills in Action: Proven track record in Accounting operations, invoicing, compliance coordination, and vendor management. Known for exceptional attention to detail, reliability, and the ability to manage multiple financial workflows simultaneously.
• Tech Proficiency: Strong working knowledge of MS Office - Word, Excel (including pivot tables and MIS trackers), PowerPoint, and OneDrive. Hands-on experience with Google Workspace - Gmail, Google Docs/Sheets, and Looker Studio for dashboards.
• Accounting Tools: Familiarity with accounting platforms such as Tally, Zoho Books, or similar tools preferred.
• Compliance Awareness: Working knowledge of GST, TDS, and other statutory requirements applicable to a growing startup.
• Adaptability: Thrive in the fast-paced rhythm of a startup where change is constant and every challenge is an opportunity to bring clarity and order.
• Qualification: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field. 1-2 years of relevant experience preferred.
