Job summary

LegalZoom's Bengaluru-based Finance team seeks an experienced General Ledger Analyst to support India operations and collaborate with the US Accounting & Consolidation teams. You will help establish a new shared-services function in Bangalore and gain exposure to US GAAP and internal controls using Oracle ERP.

The role requires 2–3 years of invoice processing experience, a Bachelor’s in accounting, strong Oracle knowledge, and solid Excel skills.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of experience in processing and paying invoices.
• Bachelor degree in accounting or related field.
• Strong Oracle knowledge/experience.
• Good knowledge of Indian tax.
• Experience with ERP general ledger systems.
• Basic understanding of US GAAP and/or India accounting principles.
• Excellent written, oral, and analytical skills.
• Collaborative team player with strong Excel skills (pivot tables, vlookups).

Responsibilities

• Report directly to the Group Manager, India Accounting Operations.
• Assist with processing general accounting transactions including cash, bank reconciliations, fixed assets, leases, prepayments and accruals.
• Prepare journal entries as part of the monthly close cycle.
• Assist with balance sheet accounts reconciliations.
• Analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual variances in income statement and balance sheet.
• Assist in the documentation for SOX compliance.
• Respond to audit requests in a timely manner.
• Assist with ad hoc Oracle reports and requests from the business.

Our Finance team is seeking an accounting professional who is familiar with a variety of accounting concepts, business practices, and procedures. We seek an individual who embraces challenges and can rely on his/her experience, educational background and sound judgment to plan and accomplish goals.

The General Ledger Analyst, India Finance Operations, will be responsible for supporting our US Accounting & Consolidation team, and assisting with the establishment of our new accounting shared-services function in Bangalore, India, which will partner and collaborate with our US Finance & Accounting team. The successful candidate will be a self-starter, strong communicator and thrives in a team environment. We are looking for a candidate who is eager to learn and grow within a fast-paced technology company, to gain exposure to US GAAP accounting principles and internal controls using Oracle Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) tools.

You Will

• Report directly to the Group Manager, India Accounting Operations,
• Assist with the processing of general accounting transactions including: cash and bank reconciliations, fixed assets, leases, prepayments and accruals
• Prepare journal entries as part of the monthly close cycle
• Assist with preparation of balance sheet accounts reconciliations
• Analyze and comment on monthly, quarterly, annual variances within income statement and balance sheet line items
• Assist in the preparation of documentation in support of our internal control environment for SOX compliance
• Respond to audit requests in a timely manner
• Assist with ad hoc Oracle reports and requests from the business

You Have

• At least 2-3 years of experience in processing and paying invoices; preferably with a major technology company
• Bachelor degree in accounting or related field required
• Strong knowledge and experience with Oracle
• Good knowledge of Indian tax
• Knowledge of ERP general ledger systems
• Must have a basic understanding of US GAAP and/or India accounting principles
• Excellent written, oral and analytical skills
• Collaboration and able to work within a team environment
• Must be proficient in Microsoft office including intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, vlookups)
