Job Summary
The Accountant II is responsible for the general ledger activities on the DTC accounting team, ensuring accurate financial records and conducting timely account reconciliations.
Responsibilities
- Perform month-end closing activities including account analysis, account reconciliations, journal entry preparation/input, maintenance of the journal entry and reconciliation logs, and preparation of internal reports.
- Handle accounting topics such as prepaids, marketing and demand creation expenses, DTC expense and accruals, gift cards, other unique tender types, incentive accruals, and other miscellaneous items as needed.
- Support DTC business with month-end closing tasks across a variety of accounting topics.
- Accurately prepare monthly retail reserve summary and Quarterly Financial Review / Quarterly Business Review content as necessary.
- Support master data maintenance processes for new and closed stores, including financial dimension impacts.
- Maintain financial records in compliance with policies, internal controls, and SOX compliance activity and documentation.
- Assist with internal and external audits.
- Perform self-review of work to deliver high-quality, error-free products.
- Maintain a high level of productivity and deliver continuous improvement in efficiency and effectiveness of accounting processes.
- Recommend streamlining or quality improvement opportunities at the desk level or as part of end-to-end processes with cross-functional partners.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field.
- Typically requires 2-4 years of professional experience (or 5+ years of progressive accounting experience or 3+ years of public accounting experience).
- General proficiency with accounting tools, systems, and procedures.
- CPA preferred.
- No travel required.
