Job description

Role & Responsibilities
1. GST Compliance
  • Prepare and file GST returns within prescribed timelines.
  • Handle GST- related compliances for multiple clients.
  • Reconcile purchase and sales data with GST records.
  • Review GSTR-1, GSTR-3B and other applicable GST returns.
  • Assist with GST reconciliations and identification of mismatches.
  • Coordinate with clients for collection of GST- related information and documents.
  • Stay updated with changes in GST rules, notifications, and compliance requirements.
2. TDS & TDS Returns
  • Handle end-to-end TDS compliance for clients.
  • Calculate and verify TDS deductions as per applicable provisions.
  • Prepare and file quarterly TDS returns.
  • Reconcile TDS ledgers and challans.
  • Verify TDS certificates and assist clients with TDS-related queries.
  • Handle TDS-related notices, defaults, corrections, and follow-ups wherever required.
3. Audit Support & Compliance
  • Assist in conducting statutory, tax, internal, and other applicable audits.
  • Prepare audit schedules, working papers, reconciliations, and supporting documentation.
  • Coordinate with clients for required books, documents, invoices, confirmations, and other information.
  • Identify discrepancies during audit and assist in resolving them.
  • Ensure audit-related assignments are completed accurately and within stipulated timelines.
4. Tax & Statutory Notice Handling
  • Assist in handling GST, TDS, Income Tax, and other statutory notices received by clients.
  • Review notices and understand the nature of the issue/query raised by the concerned authority.
  • Coordinate with senior CAs/tax professionals for preparing appropriate responses.
  • Collect and organize supporting documents and information required for submissions.
  • Track notices, responses, deadlines, and follow-ups to ensure timely closure.
5. Complete Client Management
  • Independently manage day-to-day accounting and taxation requirements of assigned clients.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for routine accounting, GST, TDS, and compliance-related queries.
  • Regularly communicate with clients regarding pending documents, information, payments, returns, and compliance deadlines.
  • Follow up with clients to ensure timely receipt of financial and statutory information.
  • Build and maintain strong professional relationships with clients.
  • Understand client requirements and ensure timely delivery of assignments.
  • Escalate complex technical matters to senior CAs/management wherever required.
6. Regulatory & Compliance Updates
  • Keep track of changes in GST, TDS, Income Tax, accounting standards, and other applicable statutory regulations.
  • Ensure client assignments are carried out in accordance with the latest applicable rules and compliance requirements.
  • Assist senior professionals in implementing changes in statutory and tax compliances
7. Accounting & Bookkeeping
  • Maintain and review books of accounts for multiple clients.
  • Record and verify day-to-day accounting transactions, including sales, purchases, receipts, payments, expenses, and journal entries.
  • Perform bank reconciliation, ledger scrutiny, and account reconciliation.
  • Identify accounting discrepancies and coordinate with clients for necessary corrections.
  • Ensure books of accounts are maintained accurately and in accordance with applicable accounting practices.
8. Account Finalization
  • Handle finalization of accounts for clients.
  • Prepare and review Profit & Loss Account, Balance Sheet, ledgers, schedules, and other financial statements.
  • Conduct ledger scrutiny and ensure proper accounting treatment of transactions.
  • Assist in year-end closing activities and preparation of financial statements.
  • Coordinate with senior team members/CA for final review and completion of accounts.
Candidate Profile
  • Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience working in a CA firm.
  • Strong practical knowledge of Accounting, GST and TDS.
  • Experience in finalization of accounts.
  • Hands-on experience in GST return filing and TDS return filing.
  • Exposure to audit assignments and statutory compliance.
  • Experience in handling or assisting with GST/TDS/Income Tax notices.
  • Strong experience in client coordination and client management.
  • Ability to independently manage multiple client assignments.
  • Good understanding of accounting principles and taxation concepts.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work within strict compliance deadlines.
Educational Qualification
  • CA Dropout / CA Inter preferred.
  • B.Com / M.Com or equivalent qualification may also be considered if the candidate has strong relevant experience in a CA firm.
