Job summary

Novomed in Mumbai is seeking a Senior Accountant Manager to oversee the accounting operations, financial reporting, compliance, and budgeting. The role requires strong leadership, analytical skills, and proficiency in Tally and other financial tools to ensure accurate records and informed decision-making.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of accounting/finance experience, a Bachelor’s/Master’s degree, and fluency with GST, TDS, and audits.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of taxation laws, financial reporting standards, and compliance requirements.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the accounting function including accounts payable/receivable, GL, and reconciliations.
• Ensure timely preparation of financial statements, P&L, balance sheets and other reports.
• Coordinate taxation and compliance with GST, TDS, Income Tax and audits.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning; monitor expenses and cash flow.
• Supervise payroll processing and vendor payments; manage internal controls.

Job Summary:

The Senior Accountant Manager will be responsible for overseeing the accounting operations, financial reporting, compliance, and budgeting processes. This role requires strong leadership, analytical skills, and proficiency in Tally and other financial management tools to ensure accurate financial records and effective financial decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Financial Accounting & Reporting:

• Oversee and manage the overall accounting function, including accounts payable/receivable, general ledger, and reconciliations.
• Ensure timely preparation of financial statements, profit & loss accounts, balance sheets, and other reports.
• Conduct financial analysis to support business decisions and cost optimization.

2. Taxation & Compliance:

• Ensure compliance with all statutory regulations, including GST, TDS, Income Tax, and other financial laws.
• File tax returns and handle assessments with tax authorities.
• Coordinate with auditors and ensure smooth internal and external audits.

3. Budgeting & Cost Control:

• Develop and oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes.
• Monitor expenses and recommend cost‑saving strategies.
• Track company cash flow and liquidity management.

4. Payroll & Vendor Management:

• Supervise payroll processing, including salary disbursement, tax deductions, and compliance.
• Manage vendor payments, credit control, and reconciliation of accounts.

5. Team Leadership & Process Improvement:

• Lead and mentor a team of accountants, ensuring adherence to best practices and efficiency.
• Implement financial process improvements and automation to enhance accuracy and productivity.
• Maintain strong internal controls and risk management frameworks.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelors/Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in accounting, finance, or audit management.
• Proficiency in Tally, MS Excel, and ERP systems.
• Strong understanding of taxation laws, financial reporting standards, and compliance requirements.
• Excellent analytical, leadership, and problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple financial functions.

Preferred Skills:

• CA/ICWA qualification is an added advantage.
• Experience in handling audits and liaising with financial institutions.
• Strong negotiation and communication skills for vendor and stakeholder management.
