Job summary

Onward Technologies Limited is seeking an senior embedded systems expert to lead design, architecture and integration across complex products. You will define roadmaps, guide debugging, and ensure standards and certifications are met while mentoring teams and engaging with clients.

This on-site role requires deep experience with ARM/MCU platforms, RTOS, Linux, and low-level drivers, plus strong collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s in Electronics, Computer Engineering, Embedded Systems, or related field.
• 18+ years of hands-on experience in embedded system design and development.
• Prior experience in leading technical teams or acting as a consultant on embedded projects.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert-level guidance in embedded system design, architecture, development, and integration.
• Define technical strategies, system requirements, and solution roadmaps for complex embedded products.
• Lead troubleshooting and performance optimization efforts across hardware-software interfaces.
• Review and validate embedded software for compliance with coding standards and industry certifications.
• Mentor and support engineering teams on embedded development best practices and processes.
• Engage with clients and internal stakeholders to clarify technical requirements and deliver robust solutions.
• Stay up to date on emerging technologies in embedded systems, IoT, real-time systems, and microcontroller platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide expert-level guidance in embedded system design, architecture, development, and integration.
• Define technical strategies, system requirements, and solution roadmaps for complex embedded products.

Technical Skills & Requirements:

• Proficient in embedded C/C++, RTOS, Linux, or bare-metal programming.
• Strong knowledge of microcontrollers (ARM, AVR, PIC, etc.) and peripheral interfaces (SPI, I2C, UART, ADC, PWM).
• Experience with firmware development, bootloaders, low-level drivers, and hardware abstraction layers (HAL).
• Familiarity with debugging tools such as JTAG, oscilloscopes, logic analyser's, etc.
• Experience with version control and CI/CD tools (Git, Jenkins, etc.)
• Exposure to model-based development (e.g., MATLAB/Simulink) is a plus.
• Understanding safety standards like ISO 26262, IEC 61508, or MISRA C (as per domain).
• Proficiency in system-level debugging and performance profiling.
